Howard Johnson Inn Conference Center, Wausau

Spacious, clean room, easy access to skiing. The only two problems: No pay-per-view TV and no free breakfast. The restaurant has pleasant service but mediocre food.

This is a Safe,Warm, Comfortable, Cleanfacility with an Excellent Staff and Service. We liked the close proximity to Granite Peak. The large fireplace is very inviting and a great place to quietly visit or read.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I did eat at Emma Krumbee's, the restaraunt attached to the hotel. It was pretty good. The waitress asked us to tell our friends. My friends all live about 1000 miles away, but I'll do what I can. Route 51, exit 190. Enjoy

They have transformed this place from the old park inn and it is looking wonderful! clean rooms, great staff, friendly service what more can i say! you will have to go for yourself and see what has been done!

We were there with a group, suppose to have a block of rooms, but ended up some on 1st and some on 2nd floor. Web site says laundry services NOT!!!! Very SMALL queen size beds, more like double size. Pay $100 a night and no continental breakfast? They are taking your money!!!!!!!!!!

My 3rd time here, so that should tell you something! I just took my teenage son & his friend there for a snowboarding trip at Granite Peak. They've renovated the place & it's even better now than it was. I was originally quoted $99/night but also got a quote of $90 from another hotel, so I told them this & they honored the lower rate. I'd expect to pay more like $60 for a place like this, but overall it's good value. They now have Wi-fi in every room, it's really close to Granite Peak (they say 5 minutes, but I clocked it at 3). The adjoining restaurant (Emma Crumbies) is a Denny's clone & a bit pricey, but OK. There's a Subway, McDs & other eating places close-by. They have a good little gym & pool with hot tub, which I used while the boys were having fun. They enjoyed the hot tub when they got back from a day on the slopes. The bar has pool tables, foosball, multiple TVs & a nice atmosphere. The boys want to go to Granite Peak again next month, so guess where we'll be staying? You bet.
