Never on a Saturday night!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/08
Great place except when a group of "young people" showed up. NEVER get a room next to the ice machine. It's noisy, and it's like a phone booth at a liquor store. All the kids hung out by it, screaming and running all over the place. The front desk said "Oh well." The noise from the room above was like from a "Frat Night" movie.

Very enjoyable.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
My cousin and I shared a room at the hotel in late October. The room was booked as a package deal (including air fare) through "Last Minute Deals" as we were attending our uncle's memorial service in Tacoma. I had read bad reviews about this hotel just before we left. I must say, our stay was very nice. The people at the front desk were very polite and courteous. Our room was clean and quiet. It had a refrigerator and coffee pot and enough towels. Free wireless in each room was an added benefit. The pool and hot tub area (indoor) was very relaxing, clean and convenient. My cousin also enjoyed the exercise room. Breakfast in the morning was nice. Nothing out of the oridinary, though. However; the room adjacent to the lobby came in very handy when the other family members arrived in town. We used it as a central location where we could chat and get caught up. Coffee and tea (hot water) was available at our disposal and everyone felt welcome. The hotel is in a convenient area, close to shops and restaurants. The casino is closed so the hotel should change its website indicating such. All in all, our stay was very enjoyable!

Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/06
Reserved a room online and picked this location by mistake rather than Olympia. When I called from the Olympia hotel I was told they were going to charge me a no show fee anyhow. I was told that they would charge me $25.00 for my mistake. Okay, fair. I get get a bill for 102.99 cents. In the meantime (before I got the 102.99 billing)I am in the Tacoma area and decide to stay there. A large piece of the ceiling falls in next to my bed at 2:30 am. I have to move to another room. I have spent endless hours now trying to get a receipt for the no show bill. Nothing but promises to send. Never get it. The service is horrible and they had the audacity to bill me even with the ceiling problem. Lousy service. Stay away!

Will never stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/06
This was the worst experience ever. From 12:30am until 5:00am nothing but trouble. First, the Casino had a live band with music blarring in our room until 1:00am. Then, there was a group of people yelling and partying in the hall way until the front desk finally evicted half of them out around 4:30am. They were smoking with the smell coming into our room. Then, there were people above our room, crashing things over and stomping on the floor until 5:00am. I called the Front Desk many times and it took them 5hrs to get it under control. My last option I was going to do was call the Tacoma Police. We had no sleep and from what we found out alot of other people were complaning as well. I don't suggest anyone to stay at this Motel.

Very happy experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
We stayed at the newly remodeled Red Lion for a week in July, 2005. It was like a new hotel and very clean. I'm picky about hotel cleanliness and it more than met my expectations. They serve a free breakfast in the lobby with eggs, bacon, toast, juices and coffee. The pool was in a separate building and also looked new. We used it and it was very clean. Next door to the hotel was a casino. Once we saw the police at the casino on what seemed to be a disturbance, but it didn't bother us. I would highly recommend the Red Lion.
