Worth the trip!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/10
Liked - by beautiful Lake Quinault. Quiet, nice lodge with a 1920's-1930's feel. Left very rested. Disliked - food at Roosevelt Restaurant was not worth the price being charged.

Great Location, but not worth the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/24/10
My husband and I, with our 2 year old son stayed in the Lodge for the weekend. For the room you get, it was not worth the price you pay. The tub was nasty, there was dirt embedded in the grooves of the tub and hair from the previous users still in the tub. The view from the room was amazing, but that was the only amazing thing about the room. We stayed in the Lakeside area and there is no elevator at that location, the way to get up is either stairs or a wrap around flat area for wheelchairs. The restaurant at the lodge has great food, but is on the pricey side. We ate there for dinner and there was a wine tasting event going on and it was very loud.

Loved it! Can't wait to go back!
By KatieK, 6/2/09
Fantastic location. Beautiful grounds right on the lake and within walking distance to the rain forest. Hiking trails all over. Lots of activities. You're kind of in the middle of no where, but it still has a resort feel to it. We will absolutley be back later this summer and will continue to return!

Great get-away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/15/09
We have vacationed at The Lake Quinault Lodge about a half a dozen times. It is remote, quiet, and relaxing. The restaurant is great and there are other restaurants around as well. Many beautiful hiking trails nearby. The servie has always been great & we have had no reservation related issues. Regarding the weather --- we have visited in the fall, winter, spring, & summer. This is a rain-forest. It will be rainy in the winter at times.... We have stayed in the lodge itself, the fire-place rooms, the boat-house, and in the lakeside units. The lake-side units have a more traditional "motel feel" and have a TV but they were still nice enough. We'll go back again and again.

Watch out for reservation policy
By Kirk, 11/11/08
No ability to change reservations (in the wet winter). 100% cancellation/move fee within 72 hours Don't stay here if you plan to do any activity that you might cancel due to weather...

* Not worth of money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
We stayed in Main lodge for a night. The room was with very old with furniture and blankets, and was smell bad. At night, I could not sleep because I could hear noises from other rooms. I not even could take a warm shower because I keep getting cold water. I think these rooms at main lodge need some work. Lake quinault Lodge has a beautiful scenary. Beside we hiked in the day , but there was nothing much to do at night. There was no TV to watch in the room or some other things fun to do around this area. I would not recommend anyone to stay in the room because it was not worth $130 + tax per night. Super 8 motel has better room than this!

Exceeded Expectations
Our first overnight vacation in a National Forest lodge exceeded our expectations. The service was "down home" without any pretension. Helpful and attentive to our every request made the service staff seem more like family. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The food in the lodge was excellent.

The rest may not come easy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/07
This can be a great place and experience if you are lucky and careful. My recommendation is to book with caution or consider the other accommodations/restaurants in the area and just visit the lodge. All the negative reviews I've read are true and could possibly happen to you. Ask if they are having a wedding, because your money and needs won't be respected and you could find yourself in a nightclub instead of a lodge. I can overlook the poorly trained staff and occasional poor service throughout the lodge because they seem to hire local instead of ship people in. There are also several staff members that are fantastic. I also appreciate and hope the laid back attitude of the staff isn't lost, but when you have rowdy drunks from the raging wedding spill into the lodge swearing at every other word you will find the staffs attitude unacceptable and will need to retreat to your, hopefully, quiet room or will need to do the staffs job for them. You likely won't get much of an apology/compensation either....just excuses. The food is still overpriced but getting better, if your careful with the menu you can find value and quality. This could be a really affordable laid back fun place to visit. Until I have assurances that they have turned things around I won't be spending my money there.

Good place to relax
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/07
The secenry is beautiful set with the lake, lodge and the forest in the back. Experiancing warmer welcomes than that we received at the front desk we got a nice and clean room. Food you do not have much of a choice out there was good, but not on a deluxe chef level. We will come back

Reservation nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/07
Reserved a room with lake view and two double beds. Got a room with view of main road, one queen sized bed and one twin sized air mattress on the floor with no bedding (courtesy the front desk staff since they apparently gave our room to someone else). The bathroom consisted of a shower stall with unpredictable hot/cold water and a toilet that leaked on the floor and smelled like an outhouse. The sink was in the main room which interferes with placement of your courtesy air mattress. ;-) All for only $205US/night! Such a deal. The restaurant is over priced but the food was good and the wait staff, although oblivious to grooming, were efficient and friendly. (Tuck in your shirt, pull up your pants, you're at work). The Olympic National Park offers far better trails, views, and wildlife along the northern border. This lodge is quaint - if your reservation doesn't leave you on the floor - but not worth it. Too bad, it could be great. Tell you what, on your way along the southern end of the park, stop in and take a look, it's neat. Don't bother staying.
