This place is very convenient to Whitman College, so we stayed here for parents' weekend. We arrived late at night, were given the key to our room, unlocked the door to find a complete mess: bed not made, dirty towels on the floor, they obviously had not cleaned the room after the last guest. This was a really creepy experience. The lone person on duty locked up the office and cleaned up the room. We slept in our car until the room was finally ready at 1:30 AM!

To quote the great Bette Davis, "what a dump." We found out when we arrived that the hotel is in receivership and up for sheriff's auction. That explained a lot. The towels were stained with what I hope was coffee; the mattress I had was so bad I was forced to borrow a travel bed from the people we were visiting to put on top of the bed itself just to get a decent night's sleep without waking up in traction. The only good thing I can say is that the staff was courteous and helpful. It's not their fault the place is in such dismal shape. But I would never, under any circumstances, stay there again.
