Won't be returning

We booked a suite, which looked very nice in the online photos. The photos must be at least 10 years old - the room was very run down. We had noisy drunken neighbors and asked to be moved. The room we were moved to was much nicer than the suite, but still in need of some updating. They no longer have a restaurant or lounge despite the fact they still advertise room service in their Guest Directory. Lucky for us the location is not bad so there are plenty of restaurants near by. The front desk staff was the only positive aspect of our stay here. Thankfully we were only here for one night passing through on our way to our final vacation destination. We will not be returning here for another stay.

GREAT HOTEL

This hotel was fabulaou!! Very clean. the service was wonderful and the hotle staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We were picked up at Amtrak by a very nice gentleman. The pool is open untiil 11. A plus since most close theirs at 9. and we don't get to use it after a hard days work. The breakfast was hot and the varity was great. Sausages, eggs besides Waffles. All and all I would highly reccommend it.

Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed At

The carpet was filthy, sofa was old and badly stained and linens were ragged. The place hasn't been remodled since the 60's. The entry door was extremely difficult to open and shut. It stuck badly and you had to kick it with great force to shut it and wrestle with it to get it open An obvious fire hazard. Rates were excessively high for what little we got. I will never stay here again and would recommend that no one else does either..

VERY HAPPY

I went there with my family and from the second I walked in the Hotel I was happy, the staff was polite and helpfull with every need we had. They helped get us tickets to the parks at a discount, helped with directions, and even places to eat. We reserved the suite and the room was perfect in every way. I have stayed in many Hotels before and this place is a hidden treasure. It is not the Plaza in Manhattan but we had a great time. The suite is a perfect size for a family, plenty of room for everyone. no complaints from us. The staff keeps the Hotel and grounds clean, Everything we wanted was close by with easy access to the attractions, and the price was a great deal I personally loved the BBQ grill they have for all to use WE WILL GO THERE AGAIN ON OUR NEXT VACATION!!!

Very Disappointed!!

My children and I stay in a suite here for the week of Jr.Olympics. I was informed by front desk all rooms were remodel within the last SIX months and in fact my room had new carpet only 4 months ago. YEAH RIGHT!! Like 4 centuries ago. The room had clothes left by the former guest, there was a razor left in the bathroom and hair on the floor by the toilet, raggedy blankets, stained sofa and carpet that also was sticky in some areas(we kept our shoes on). I'm not sure how the regular rooms are. We stayed in a suite. SO BEWARE!! If your looking for motels six accommodations at a much higher rate, go for it. I dont understand how/why this hotel has a 3 1/2 star rating it should be no more than 2.

Trust me on this one. This is by far the most mismanaged property i have ever stayed at. Uncleaned room, then was told they only clean twice a week. Front desk clueless

great stay

my husband and i enjoyed our night stay here, the staff was wonderful, the room very clean, we loved there pillows lol. the only con was we were put into a handicap room for it was the only non smoking room that included our romance package which included wine, wine glasses, candles, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle opener for a keepsake and we cant forget the free dinner and breakfast....in all this hotel ROCKS

Would stay again..

Visiting son in Hampton..too much night time activity there not a family area. Chose Point Plaza based on reviews on Orbitz. Nice clean hotel..large rooms ..wonderful housekeeping..beds very comfortable and I cannot tell you how quite and peaceful it was . We stayed in room 172 which was located right next to the fitness area..could not even hear treadmill or TV in that room. Yes, probably needs a little updating but was very pleased with service and safer feeling location. Should also visit Virginia Space and Air Museum and Imax theater located inside..it was awesome. Stayed 4 days and was very pleased with hotel.

Never want to go back! 2 stars

The staff was very unprofessional. The rooms were big but needed to be renovated. I was not pleased at all with the hotel or the service for the price we were paying. The management was not helpful in anyway. I would not reccommend this establishment to anyone that's visting this area. We were required to stay 4days and on the 4th day we checked it was so awful.

Visitor unfamiliar with the area

We were in town for our niece's graduation from CNU and didn't know anything about the area, other than there were places that we were told not to stay. When the University has a housing shortage for students, Pointe Plaza is where they send them to stay. That says a lot about the hotel management and the school--don't think that you're going to get a trashed out dorm room, because you're not. The school thinks enough of their students to send them to stay in a safe, clean place not too far from campus. The staff was very nice; great room service at the same prices as the restaurant, not jacked up for the inconvenience of delivering it to your room. Good, hearty, breakfast for under $5. Allowed us a late check out to accomodate our airline departure time, and free shuttle service to the airport. Close to shopping and restaurants; if wever in the area again, we would stay here without hesitation.
