Time it right and it's a great value
By Michael, 6/7/10
To start off, this hotel was bought by Westin and renovated. In some ways it comes off as a very nice place to stay. But, if you look you'll see that in some ways it is still a budget hotel with some nice decorations. The best part of this place is the location. It sits right where 66 meets the Beltway. It's easy to get into D.C. and is down the street from the Tyson's Corner shopping mecca. If you do not have a car, the hotel does have a shuttle to the Metro station in Falls Church. Otherwise, the service is fairly invisible, the food is average and the rooms can best be described as "pleasant". If you visit off-season, you will be rewarded with sub-$100 a night rates which suddenly makes this place a bargain. Even when D.C hotels are in high gear, the prices are competitive though not exactly stellar. I have been here a couple times, and would gladly stay here again ... if the price is right.

A few complications, but very nice overall...
By lil ms lady, 3/2/09
Professional staff, I complained about our tub not draining and the front desk sent maintenance up immediately and fixed the problem and then offered us a free breakfast coupon for the inconvenience (very accomodating because the breakfast value for 3people is $50) I also had to complain about us only having 1 bar of soap and housekeeping not only bought more soap, but body wash also. Pool/jacuzzi very nice with nice dim lightings. Bar very nice and made my daughter feel like a big girl and very welcomed because they gave her apple juice in a wine glass. The next day my daughter didn't want to leave because she loved the hotel so jokingly I said call the front desk and ask them if you can stay a little longer, and they actually told her we didnt have to check out until 1:30. Very accomodating hotel, will defintely return.

I will visit again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/08
I was on a business trip and couldn't wait to get back to my room. The entire stay was relaxing. The bed was the best part.

Great hotel
By AmyT, 5/31/08
This place is great. Not too far from the Metro and near a mall and many places to eat. The beds are excellent and the pool is nice. The rooms are average sized with new furniture and bedding. The lobby has a bar and restaurant but we did not go in there. The staff is not overly friendly but will assist you when needed. Only complaint was that we were told we could have early check in at 10 am and could not check in until 1:30 pm.

Great Hotel!!!!!!
By Zachary, 4/25/08
This Hotel was exelent. We stayed in the westin on my 8th grade trip to washington D.C in may 2007. I loved the new renovations. The rooms were spacious and clean. With plasma screen TVs. Their bathroom was spacious. I loved the "heavenly" showers (that is what they are called). The tour bus drive to D.C was reasonable short. the rooms had great air conditioning and a good veiw. The Beds were amazing. I also loved the carpeting. The Hotel rooms looked very clean and proffesional. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone!

Will not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/10/08
The only thing I liked about this place was the location. What I disliked was that there was an old bar of soap left in the shower with soap scum along the shower wall. I could hear the ice machine going off at different times of the nite. The walls were so thin I could here a baby crying in the middle of the nite.

staff apathy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/07
stayed in a few hotels on a coach touring holiday and stayed here on the 19/20 oct 07 this hotel was smart with fantastic rooms and beds. the attitude of the staff though was apalling.i got the strong impression that this stemmed from lack of leadership by management, who seemed to loiter around in small groups, wearing smart suits and occasionally delegating to the minnions.

The Worst
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
The renovations is lovely, how ever the staff are not focused on customer service. In room dining service was horrible, wrong order and food overcooked. The staff tries to be as professional as they are capable of, however it would be nice if they spoke clear english to understand what it is that you are ordering. I would not recommend anyone to pay a dime to this property

Basically nice, with a few minor things missing
By Jeff, 6/22/07
This hotel was clean and comfortable and easy to find. It appeared to have been recently renovated. Management just changed hands so there were a few things not worked out yet. They didn't have a map of the local area available. The lamp on the desk wasn't plugged in because there was no available outlet within reach. However, the room was nice with a flat screen TV. Good exercize facility as well.

I was expecting a more premium hotel from a Westin brand -- No different then a Four Points
By mf, 6/21/07
I was expecting a more premium hotel. I think of Westin as a premium brand. This hotel was OK but it was very clearly slightly upgraded finishes on a mid-level hotel. Many of the details were poor. Some examples: - the bathtub was what I would expect (and have experienced) in a fourpoints. Fine, but nothing premium about it. - The FLAT widescreen TV was not high def and most of the channels did not work. The channels that did work had poor reception - many of the old fixtures were left (e.g., door hinges) which gave the new renovation a cheep feel - there were large water stains in the lobby skylights also giving the impression of a half-finished renovation However, we paid about $80 with tax for a nice sized room. It is an excellent value and I would stay there again if I just needed a place to stay but business. But, I would have been just as happy in a Four Points and, in fact, feel some of the newer Four Points are as nice or nicer than this Westin.
