Awesome stay!

I really liked the staff and the location as well as the comfy pillows and beds. They give great directions and have a wonderful breakfast! Thank you to Comfort Inn Monticello.

Great location for a Monticello visit.

This hotel is tucked away a few miles from Monticello. It is very quiet and surrounded by tall trees. Our room was comfortable and clean--we had a lovely stay there.

Great staff!!!

The staff at this hotel was SO friendly and helpful. Everywhere I was going they gave me a map and very easy directions. I cannot understand why some reviews did not like the hotel. It was clean, not fancy, but the AAA rate is so low, the free breakfast is terrific (love those fresh waffles), and the staff was so wonderful that I decided to write a review. I recommend them to anyone, and I am VERY picky.

Will never stay there!

I made reservations - and then got sick and could not go - I called 24 hours in advance and was told they had a 7 day policy on cancellations - I think this is excessive! I make reservations all the time for my boss and have never heard of such a thing!! I think from now on I will stick with Marriott and Holiday Inn's

I would stay again

Despite the reviews, I found the staff to be very pleasant, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was awesome...a display of waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, eggs, bacon and juices/coffee and fruit. Our room was clean, although the bed not as comfy as a more upscale hotel. I would stay there again the next time I visit Charlottesville. And, it is very close to the Schnitzelhouse and Monticello!

never go back again

We had a baseball tournament with a group of 11 families who were all very unhappy with there stay. The staff was unfriendly and rude. They told the parents who were sitting by the pool talking, that they had to leave. The rooms smelled like mildew and there was mildew on the ceiling of the shower. While I was using the bathroom there was a cockroach by my foot. We gave the roach to management where they gave us a refund of 20.00,could have been more for that. They were rude to the kids as well as treating the parents like children. This place is definately not worth the money that they are charging customers. We along with 10 other families will definately not be staying here ever again.

Clean but older

We go to the Richmond race every year. We are not in our rooms much, but the staff is nothing but helpful, maybe it's some people attitude toward the staff! The rooms are older, but the rooms are clean. The staff go out of their way to help us. We plan on staying!

OK for a short stay

Staff was a little indifferent and not terribly helpful. However, the free breakfast buffet was much better than expected (waffels, eggs, etc.) Room was clean but very basic. Layout of the building can create some long walks to your room. It is best to ask for a room near the front of the hotel.

I would not recommend

My experience at this hotel was not good. There was trash under the bed in the room. The carpet had not been vaccumed good. We killed a large spider in the room. The continental breakfast was to start at 6:00 and it was after 6:30. We were ready to check out early in the morning and the lobby was locked so we couldn't check out. So thereforeI would not recommend this hotel.

Bad ! Bad ! Bad!!!

Manager and frant desk clark was rude, we asked smoking room but desk clark give us non smoking room and said it was ok to smoke in that room, but next day there was $ 100.00 charge on my credit card Manager said that was because i smoke in nonsmoking room, bath room was dirty, and there was no electricity that night in the hotel but refuse to reefund any money, we have to call CC to get money back.
