Best free freshly cooked breakfast
By William B, 12/09/09
I have read some of these reviews below and don't quite understand what is so bad about this place. I travel all over the state and must stay at a certain rate ($70 on average). Value wise this hotel at the top of my list in the Richmond area. For the price it is on the high end of comfort and cleanliness. The reviews below expect a rolls royce for the price of a dodge neon I assume. The staff is always very nice when I stay (which has been over 50 times). The best of all is the breakfast. They give you a breakfast voucher for every night you stay in their on site restaurant and it is freshly cooked. The hash brown's are to die for. Lastly, if you collect Choice points they will give you a 2 room suite if you book a night with points. Just ask if you want it.

Poorly Run with poor service.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/08
Claim no smoking. First room smelled like smoker live there. Hotel rep stated no smoking policy wasn't enforced. Also, suspect maids smoked in the room while making it up. Next room, tub wouldn't drain, took three days of calling to get it fixed. Didn't make up the room one day. Called front desk and was told by a manager he didn't know. Every morning at about seven am the maids roll their carts around the place to wake everyone up. Cable TV was intermittent. Claim to have high speed internet but the network is unsecured so the whole neighborhood probably using it making it unusable part of the day. Location is ok if you need to be near the airport however there are plenty of better hotels closer to town.

Worst Red Roof Inn Ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/08
Though I regularly stay at Red Roof Inns, this stop was a total disappointment. A "Medically Guaranteed" first floor room on my reservation was ignored, my wife was yelled at during the check in process. Though advertised as a "Business King", the room we received was missing a picture on the wall (the clamp was there, but the picture was missing) and there was no lamp on the desk.

will never return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/08
This place was viewed as a remodel. The only thing was was updated was the flat screen in the lobby. This looked like a welfare hotel. Not very clean, roaches in room and smell was non descriptive. This reminded me of a short stay hotel (if you catch my drift). Why would I have to go next door to eat breakfast??? I guess if you get what you pay for if the room was only $49 per night!!! I would never, ever, ever refer staying at this location.

Beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/07
Stayed here on 12-23-07-watch your room-don't leave unattended-2 thefts reported that day and I was one of the victims-250$ gift card and small amount cash missing-I will admit that the items should not have been left in the room unattended but you would think security would be a little better than this-mgmt seemed interested when reported but could care less when follow up call done next day- the gift card (Christopheer and Banks) was cashed at a local store on 12-24-07 (20 miles form the motel)-I didn't get a receipt when checked out the next morning-office door locked and couldn't get anyone to answer my knock-went to Clarion and they called and woke the attendant up- did not give me a receipt

GOT RIPPED ON THE RATE!
By BILLY, 11/01/07
STAYED HERE FOR THE NASCAR RACE IN MAY 2007, HAD A RESERVATION FOR $59 PER NIGHT. CREDIT CARD WAS BILLED AT $89 PER NIGHT. CALLED HOTEL AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO CALL THE DISTRICT MGR. I CALLED HIM AND LEFT A MESSAGE, HE NEVER CALLED BACK. CALLED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, NEVER SPOKE TO HIM BUT WAS TOLD TO FAX THE RESERVATION PAPERS TO THEM. I DID SO AND NEVER HEARD BACK, CALLED SEVERAL MORE TIMES AND KEPT GETTING PASSED AROUND AND PUT ON HOLD OR SENT TO VOICEMAIL. I LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH BBB OF RICHMOND, AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS THE BBB OF RICHMOND TOLD ME THE HOTEL WOULD NOT RESPOND AND THEY COULD NOT FORCE THEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. UPPER RAILINGS ON WALKWAYS WERE LOOSE AND DANGEROUS, ELEVATOR SOUNDED LIKE A DEATH TRAP, AND CLEANING LADYS WERE LOUD AND NOISY OUTSIDE THE ROOMS EARLY IN THE MORNING. WORD TO THE WISE, CHECK THE RATE THEY ARE BILLING YOU AT BEFORE THEY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD. THEY OVER CHARGE YOU, THEN MAKE YOU JUMP THRU A MILLION HOOPS AND NEVER RETURN YOUR MONEY.

Good Place to Stay for the Money and the Service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/07
My last stay here was very good. The front desk agents were very nice, and they made sure I felt at home after a long tirp. I can see that they have put a lot of work in this hotel. I would stay here again.

Shut this place down till fully operational!!!
By Angella, 08/05/06
Richmond Airport Hotel & Conference Center (804) 222-6450 5203 Williamsburg Rd Sandston, VA 23150 Under new management; Under construction; Understaffed; Unprofessional staff and management; Travelers checks not accepted; Rooms overbooked, and incomplete. Wheelchair Accessible room assigned was on the on 4th floor; low toilet and no rails in bathroom; the Fitness Center consisted of a couple of exercise bikes and tread mills. Some basic room items are not available in many rooms. Several elevators and Ice makers were on the fritz on the fritz. Surrounding area had few decent restaurants, many fast foods only. You name it: This place is a hell hole. The place should be shut down until ready for full service. Holiday inn, Clarion, what ever name they use: someone needs to be sued for breech of contract!
