Econo Lodge Christiansburg, Christiansburg

My wife and I recently attended out friend's graduation at Virginia Tech. I understand that hotels always raise their rates for special events because they can get away with it, but this motel (not hotel) was certainly not worth the price. For starters, there were only 2 towels in the room. When they cleaned the room, they did not replace the towels immediately. Towels were brought later with the explananation that they had to wash the towels before they could replace them. I have never stayed at a hotel charging almost 200 dollars a night that only had exactly 2 towels per room. On the day of our checkout (which was 11 a.m.) the front desk called the room at 10:59 asking us if we were checking out that day, to which I replied yes. We were finishing up with packing when they called again 5 minutes later. Overall, I was not pleased with the cost verse the value. I would never stay at this hotel again especially not at the price they charged!

We stayed at this Econo Lodge because usually we have good luck with the brand at first seemed ok till a drunk college person threatened us for no reason. We got scared called the hotel staff somewhat took care of it. They made him leave for a couple of mins but came back. We specifically asked for a non smoking room and we got a smoking room. The pool looked nice but we only stayed overnight so we couldn't get in it. The breakfast was small it only had doughnuts, gronola bars, some juices, and cereal no waffles. The whole hotel is like a motel style shouldn't even be a hotel it should be a 1 star not even be classified as 2. The best part of the hotel was probably the staff.

WhEN WE GOT TO THE HOTEL WE FOUND OUT WE WERE PUT IN A SMOKING ROOM WHICH SMELLED OWFUL SO WE TRIED TO STAY OUTSIDE AS LONG AS WE COULD. ThE POOL WAS OK BUT KINDA SMALL. WE FOUND A DRUNK COLLAGER AT THE HOTEL WHO WAS SWEARING AT EVERYONE FOR NO REASON.ThE STAFF WAS PRETTY NICE.BUT WE WANTED A NON SMOKING ROOM. THE ROOM WAS SMALL.ONE OF THE ICE MACHINES WERE BROKEN AND IT SEEMED LIKE A MOTEL WE PROBABLY WOULD'NT STAY THERE AGAIN.

I stayed there 1 night on a road trip. It was the 1st motel off the Interstate 81. Walked right in and got a room easily and fast. It was worth what I paid for it.

I stayed there on April 28, 2006. The staff was curteous, the room was clean and was supplied with a refrigerator and a microwave. I believe I detected a faint smell of smoke in my non-smoking room, but I can't be sure, the smell could have been from outside. The complimentary breakfast was less than I've found in other hotels/motels, but it is what I expected considering the low room rates. The wireless internet connection had a clear signal. There was plenty of parking and it is within walking distance of a "Waffle House". I would stay there again.
