Howard Johnson Inn Daleville/Troutville, Daleville

The pool was green but the manager had that problem fixed by 4pm of our second day there. The room was dirty and had a musky smell..There was spider webs in the corners of the room and dead bugs in the windowsill. The towels looked dingy. The room needed vacuumed but that was not done at all during our stay. Once the pool was cleaned and shocked my sons went swimming..I did have a problem with guests drinking alcohol at the pool with small children around...I dont drink and did no like others drinking with my children present so we had to leave the pool until the party left the area. There was also a security issue that did bother me...My oldest son made friends with a boy that was the housekeepers son (who by the way lives at the hotel with her entire family). This young man informed us that he could go into any room and take all that persons money...Considering that his mother was the housekeeper I was left wondering if he actually did things like that and if she had a master key to all of the rooms...The so called breakfast buffet was not much...The biscuits were very cold almost like they came straight out of the refrigerator. There was no bread for toast. The waffle batter dispenser sticks and wont turn off at times...The was only small saucer size paper plates provided to put your food on... I do need to commend the front dest staff. They were amazing..Very friendly and helpful with information. But seemed unaware of the condidtions of the rooms and pool. Dont think I will stay there again unless there is no where else to stay. I can not get over the security issue I mentioned.

The person at the front desk was very nice and we had high hopes as we entered our room. It wasn't bad for what we paid. Rust stains in the bathtub, sink and toilet. Beds a little uncomfortable - it was only for one night. And then I saw the bugs - all over the windows - on the inside! A big cockroach crawled across the bed. We left. Couldn't even stay the night we were so disgusted! We expected cheap - but this was unbearable.

1 reviews female with a budget, traveling for business I booked a room for one night, checked in the front desk was a quick check in while in the process of check in the front desk person was very nice, explained all the locations of restaurants guided me the directions to the place I wanted to be, and in minutes I felt that I new the whole area, they had full breakfast which was a great incentive and good value to customers. I was so impressed that I extended my stay for another night just to feel the good environment A very big thank you to all the staff and management who made me feel like home away from home.
