Very disapointing, don't stay there!
By Jason Quevedo, 3/29/09
Very disappointed in this hotel. I didn't expect much but that was terrible, Mount Snow should be ashamed to have their name on this establishment. We stayed on the fourth floor and over heard another fellow who said "I don't need much just a clean place to lay my head but I don't know if I can even touch that bed", I couldn't have said it better myself. The sheets and pillows had stains on them, there was a bad smell throughout the entire building, everything was not just old but falling apart and we couldn't sleep because the walls are so thin we could hear everything. I am going to think twice if I have to stay over at Mount Snow when there other mountains close by with very nice accommodations. The others that felt this place was OK means that they must have cleaned or updated a few of the rooms.

Snow Lake Lodge at Mount Snow - A Nice Surprise
By Mark, 1/15/08
Based on some very old reviews of this facility, my family and I were a little hesitant about our January 11, 2008 weekend trip to the Snow Lake Lodge at Mount snow but we were pleasantly surprised and quite satisfied by what we found. Peak Resorts now looks after the property after American Ski Company's sale and we found that the facility received much needed maintenance and a little spruce-up. All the staff were extremely friendly and quite accommodating to our requests. Our lodge room (417) although not glamorous was quite adequate, clean and met our expectations for a 'Value' Room for our two evening stay. The beds were firm and the pillows were your standard fare. The bathroom showers had plenty of hot water and there was ample ability to control the temperature of the room. Some of the carpeting had been stained and one of the towel bars in the bathroom was a little loose but the room was just right for me my wife and our seven year old. The amenities at the lodge included an outdoor hot tub, and very large and well maintained indoor hot tub and indoor sauna with Men's Women Locker Room. In the morning there was a well stocked continental breakfast on the first floor Main Lodge Great Room which included a fireplace and separate seating area with large screen TV. With regards to location of the property, the Snow Lodge is perfectly located near the base of the mountain and accessed via the local community transit system called the 'Moover'. It's also a short 15 -20 minute ride over to the Stratton Mountain ski area which makes this a perfect alternative to some higher priced accommodations in the area. It is also worth noting that because this property seems to be an economical property for the budget conscious skier, they tend to book ski clubs and school ski trips into the facility which could be problematic at certain times in the evening, which we found were handled quite well by the organized trip leaders and chaperones. In conclusion, we found that the 'Bad' reviews posted on the web about this classic property at the Mount Snow ski area were a little over the top and that that this facility should be a fair consideration for those skiers seeking a quick get away to the southern Vermont ski region.

For the price its perfect for the slopes
By uxbridge local, 1/24/07
We liked the place because of the location to the slopes and the price. When you have to pay for the lift tickets who wants to pay alot for a place to stay for the night. Breakfest in the morning was good. The place was nice and warm; almost too hot in the room and plenty of hot water. Can get a bit loud there on the weekends because of the groups of kids that stay there but after a day of skiing you should be pretty beat anyways. We're going back there again...love Mt. Snow

DO NOT STAY IN SNOW LAKE LODGE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/05
This buliding was remodled, but it still looks the same as it did in 1967 thats the year it was bulit. The rooms; Lets start with the Bathrooms, No Warm water also they say there non-smoker roons but even in the non-smoker rooms there is a little smell of smoke, I have stayed in a motel and this place might be a step down from one, the beds are very spring and cheep. Oh I forgot too tell you about The sinks, your better of melting snow and useing that water. Do not turn on the sinks when my kids touched the sink handles black mud came off. For about 200$ more you could stay in the nice Summit Lodge. Winter 2004
