Good Hotel - Great Little Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/07
The hotel is very convenient to "downtown" Springdale, about a mile away, Zion National Park is about two miles away. We spent six nights at the Driftwood. The first night our room was a huge single room with two king size beds. We were given this room because our planned room was not availabe until the next day. This was planned in advance since we had originally planned to spend the first night in Las Vegas. Our room after the first night was a suite with a king size bed. It was on the second floor with a balcony that offered a wonderful view of the mountains. The room was clean, non-smoking, and included a small refridgerator and microwave. Since we reserved on the Internet we were given a 20% discount so the price was well worth it. The Driftwood has a restaurant, Jessie's Bar and Grill (not really a bar), that is operated separate than the hotel.

Excellent choice.
By Lisa, 09/04/05
The Driftwood was an excellent lodging experience. I was there in August with a group of 7 people. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, allowing us to change our reservations mid-stay to drop from 3 rooms to 2 rooms (the married couple decided they didn't need their own room). The views are incredible. The hot tub and the pool were just the right temperatures. The restaurant, where we ate breakfast was good -- although we heard from other guests that the price and service at dinner was not as good. The best about this hotel is the location. It's directly on the bus route that goes up into Zion National Park, and it couldn't possibly be more convenient. You can walk to the center of the town as well, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. All in all, a great experience.

A very pleasant experience . . .
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/05
The lodge offers beautiful views, spacious rooms and gracious service. It has a wonderful "feel" and is on the free bus route to Zion. I stayed with a family of five and was very pleased.

Driftwood Lodge Mediocre
By master, 07/09/05
We really hadn't planned to stay overnight, so hadn't made reservations. Having put in a long day--and feeling very relaxed after a wonderful dinner at the Spotted Dog--we inquired as to rates at a few places as we drove from the restaurant toward the interstate. The senior rate was given--even though my mom didn't have her AARP card on her, which was about $78 (without tax). Our room was clean and had a gorgeous patio on which we had a wonderful breakfast (strawberries, 7 layer chocolate cake from Spotted Dog dinner we took to-go, and coffee)facing the Watchman. They had a nice pool and hottub area (but do lock it after hours!) which we used early in the morning. Really, this was a pretty decent place to stay. We would do it again in the future.

Buyer beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/05
The lodge is quite acceptable and convenient to local eateries. But, beware that their pricing policy dictates that no AAA or AARP discounts apply unless you stay 3 nights. I found no such information on-line; yet, upon arrival, the registration agent insisted that, that was the policy. Not very nice!
