BED BUGS!!!!!!!!
By Guest, 4/14/12
Woke to bugs crawling all over my bed. Was horrified. Picked up a few of the bugs with wash cloth and took to front desk. The lady working told me they were "some kind of beetle but NOT a bed bug". She knew they were bed bugs but just flat denied it. I check out of the hotel right away.

Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/11
I am a mystery shopper, journalist, and have worked as desk clerk at a three star hotel, so I am pretty picky and attentive to details. I have stayed in some real dives before, so I've learned to check for a few things before I even sign the registration card. At check-in, I did a walk-through. The room is larger than my studio apartment, brand new flat screen TV. The AC was off when I entered, the room had a faint smell of disenfectant. I turned on the AC and found it to be clean and in good working order. I turned on my blacklight and looked around. The room was very clean, even under the bed. During my stay, I met all three desk clerks, and they were all wonderful! And the housekeepers too! Normally when I stay at a hotel, I tell them "no service" because I often spread out whatever project I'm working on, and want it to be that way when I get back. At other hotels, they ignore you and mess with your stuff. The staff at the Baymont respected my wishes and stayed out of my room. :) The showers were super-hot (I had a little trouble finding the cold water), they have a fitness center, but I went for the the pool instead. The pool was clean, the couch was comfortable, and the bed.... :D The bed was amazing! Fluffy pillows, firm but soft mattress...I haven't slept that good in years! The wifi is wide open, no password and a good strong signal. There is a Subway on property (and a vietnamese restaurant), and a convenience store next door. It's a little difficult to come and go, especially with the road construction, but that's almost anywhere in Austin. I read another review that was posted here that complained about smokers in the next room, and they said the staff did nothing. I noticed when I checked in that there are non-smoking signs everywhere (city ordinance), and I had to sign a paper that said I understood that if I smoked in the room I would be billed a $150 cleaning fee. They have a comfortable smoking area outside by the pool, complete with butt cans.

DONT STAY AT SOUTH AUSTIN BEST WESTERN !!!
By softailchick, 9/16/08
I stayed there last Friday nite the 12th of Sept. The room smelled bad considering they are all non-smoking rooms. The hotel itself is run down. But the worst part was the someone had a key to my room and entered it sometime around 5am. I was awakened by 2 people, one man for sure who turned once I spoke up and walked out. The front desk are all denying that this could happen. I just read 2 other people on here that had the same thing happen in this hotel. THIS IS SCARY !!! 100.00 rooms and just anyone can walk in on you !!!!

Worst Best Western I've Ever Seen
By Ray Villarreal, 4/22/08
I stayed last week. The place is under construction and they don't even clean the dust and debris from the floor, the front desk is nasty, the rooms stink of drywall dust and musty smell, and they claim they have this wonderful continental breakfast but there was contruction equipment everywhere and employees letting their kids feel the pastry. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. The price is way too high for condition it is in.

Do not stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/07
I put some relatives up at this hotel, and around 1am, hotel staff tried to come into my father in-laws room. When I inquired, they said it was because housekeeping informed the front desk that the room appeared vacant ?! Their keys were also de-activated on the 2nd night, also because house keeping reported no bags in the room (they took them with them, in case they needed to chnage/freshen up at our house). I didn' realize housekeeping ran the hotel.

Not bad not great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/07
It wasn't a bad place.. It could be better for the price. Room was small, but it was quiet. Has a fridge and microwave. Constant towels and service was not bad. Next to a Chinese restaurant and a subway a plus.

Feels like home
By Omprakash, 9/13/06
We work on different projects all over the US and move around in groups. We had booked 5 rooms at the hotel and stayed there for over 3 months. We stayed in 2 different hotels in Austin before settling for the Best Western Seville Plaza Inn. The major reasons for us switching to this hotel was the front desk staff (Ana in particular) and the free ameneties such as the Hot Breakfast and the Wireless Internet. It is located on the feeder of IH35 and has easy access to all of Austin and its only minutes away from the 6th street.

Excellent Value for your Money
By JF, 9/13/06
Very conviniently located just off I-35 and minutes from downtown and the rates are way less than the hotels located in downtown. The free hot breakfast and free wireless internet service is a big plus. Although its an older property, it is maintained very well and the rooms are clean and comfortable, the lighting could have been better, but on the whole it is excellent value for the money. The fornt desk staff was friendly, effiecient and very helpful.

Not a good choice
By James, 3/19/06
The rooms are noisy. Staff very unresponsive. Towels are like thin, small napkins. People in room next to our "non-smoking" room (their room was also non-smoking) were smoking and it came through the adjoining door and all the staff said was "no they shouldn't be doing that". No action. Overall experience not very good.
