Can't wait to go back!

I am a mystery shopper, journalist, and have worked as desk clerk at a three star hotel, so I am pretty picky and attentive to details. I have stayed in some real dives before, so I've learned to check for a few things before I even sign the registration card. At check-in, I did a walk-through. The room is larger than my studio apartment, brand new flat screen TV. The AC was off when I entered, the room had a faint smell of disenfectant. I turned on the AC and found it to be clean and in good working order. I turned on my blacklight and looked around. The room was very clean, even under the bed.
During my stay, I met all three desk clerks, and they were all wonderful! And the housekeepers too! Normally when I stay at a hotel, I tell them "no service" because I often spread out whatever project I'm working on, and want it to be that way when I get back. At other hotels, they ignore you and mess with your stuff. The staff at the Baymont respected my wishes and stayed out of my room. :) The showers were super-hot (I had a little trouble finding the cold water), they have a fitness center, but I went for the the pool instead. The pool was clean, the couch was comfortable, and the bed.... :D The bed was amazing! Fluffy pillows, firm but soft mattress...I haven't slept that good in years! The wifi is wide open, no password and a good strong signal. There is a Subway on property (and a vietnamese restaurant), and a convenience store next door. It's a little difficult to come and go, especially with the road construction, but that's almost anywhere in Austin.
I read another review that was posted here that complained about smokers in the next room, and they said the staff did nothing. I noticed when I checked in that there are non-smoking signs everywhere (city ordinance), and I had to sign a paper that said I understood that if I smoked in the room I would be billed a $150 cleaning fee. They have a comfortable smoking area outside by the pool, complete with butt cans.
