THE WORST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Ashley, 08/22/09
BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER! FIRST I SHOULD START OUT BY STATING THAT OUR FIRST NIGHT WE HAD TO SWITCH ROOMS BECAUSE THERES WAS BLOOD, YES BLOOD ALL OVER THE SHEETS IN ONE OF OUR BEDS. THE GUY AT THE FRONT DESK WAS LESS THAT ACCOMODATING TO OUR SITUATION. NOT ONLY WAS IT ON TOP OF THE SHEET BUT ON THE MATTRES PAD AND EXTRA SHEET BELOW. WHICH WAS MORE THAN ODVIOUS THAT THE SHEETS HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED IN DAYS. IN A POOR EFFORT TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE, THEY OFFERED TO GIVE US 20% DISCOUNT ON OUR NIGHT. WHICH ALSO SNOWBALLED INTO OUR ACCOUNT BEING CHARGED TWICE, BOTH TIME IN THE AMOUNT OF 200 HUNDRED DOLLARS. WHICH OF COURSE, THE FRONT DESK HAD ABSOLOUTELY NO RECORD OF. WE SPENT 3/4S OF OUR LAST DAY OF OUR VACATION WHICH WAS SUPPOUSED TO BE SPENT AT SEA WORLD WITH OUR DAUGHTER STRAIGHTENING OUT THE SITUATION WITH THE FRONT DESK WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION EXECPT WE CANNOT HELP YOU. AGAIN, BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE WILL DEFINITELY KNOW BETTER NEXT TIME

You get what you pay for
By Tilly, 07/16/08
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in Aug. 2007. Pros: very close to the riverwalk, free parking, comfortable bed. Cons: our room wasn't ready at check in time. We had to wait for an hour or so, and the staff wasn't very apologetic. The room was dated, and not very clean. The carpet was dirty. Our door wouldn't stay shut unless we had it locked. The bathroom was teeny tiny, and a little scary. We were there with 2 other couples, and at the time we booked the rooms we asked for rooms next to each other. One of the couples we were with got placed in a room across the street (this particular Days Inn has 2 buildings). We were in San Antonio for a concert, and we were there without our kids, so we were really just looking for a place to crash after we got finished partying at the riverwalk. This hotel served that purpose - it was close enough that we could walk to the riverwalk. I would never, NEVER, stay here with my kids though.

I read the reviews which were not good and decided to give this place a chance since it was near the riverwalk. My family would agree that this hotel was not clean. The room was one of the smallest that we have ever stayed in. I was afraid to walk on carpet without shoes. We were placed in a unit across the street which pictures were not on the internet. i would strongly suggest that you pay a little extra and stay on the riverwalk. We checked out a day early due to the accomodations. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone....

I would go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/07
what i liked about it its really close to the Rivercenter (walking distance) and the Alamo and everything. Also the staff! When we checked in last time we went our card was not working, the staff immediately opens the door for me and my husband and activated the card again. What i disliked was just the bathroom part it was too small . Other then that i would definetly be going back! Especailly for the price.

Never Again
By Bunny, 10/10/07
Hmmmm...well my like is that it was close to the riverwalk and the Alamo. My dislikes are: 1)the old crusty pancakes I found under the bed look for my sunglasses (If they don't look for stuff under the bed when cleaning, then what other kind of stuff could be under there!!) 2)The bathroom ceiling was black and bubbling down from the mildew. 3)The bathtub was gray and white ... like dicoloration. 4)There was black mildew in the corner of the tub. 5)The furniture and holes in it from someone playing with a drill. 6)There was dead crickets on the floor. 7)The lightng was horrible in there...the first night it was raining, so we didn't see the bugs, the next day was sunny---I couldn't believe I had just stayed there! 8)The furniture had pieces of wood missing off of it. 9)The a/c smelled musty. 10)When I was taking a shower I heard churping noises, come to find out it was just the pipes, but I really though there was a bird in the vent. I'm not asking for the Marriot, I'm just asking for cleanliness and light. Paying 150.00 for this was nuts.

Do not waste your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/07
Beware when dealing with this property directly. I made reservations for a Saturday night stay.(7/14/07). Over the phone my reservation was confirmed for Saturday and I was given the check in time for Saturday. Upon arriving Saturday, I was told that the hotel had held a room Friday for me. I gave them the confirmation number I was given over the phone and the hotel staff confirmed the reservation had been entered in the computer for Friday. The manager, Anna Mercado was very rude and unprofessional. I explained the details I was given including the 2 p.m. check -in time. Ms. Mercado said that Friday check-in is at 3 p.m. I pointed out that that reinforced my case, but Ms. Mercado refused to honor my reservation. My trip was ruined. I have since found that my card was charged at the higher Saturday rate, though the management contends I was reserved for Friday. I had stayed at this property in the past without complaint. The new management under Anna Mercado cannot be responsible for properly making reservations and the staff is unfriendly and less than helpful. I will make the same mistake again. I have been told that Days Inn corporate can only file a complaint with the hotel owner nothing more. There are many other hotels nearby. Stay away from this hotel.

I paid $90 for one night. The bathroom was so small you couldn't even turn around. The toilet flushed so loud it sounded like an explosion, the whole room smelled bad and there were bugs crawling on the walls. The bed was so hard, we hardly slept. The neighborhood is scary and looking out our window all we could see was gang graffiti across the street on all the buildings. Definitely didn't feel safe.

Would recommend to my best friend
By Kimberly D, 07/04/07
We mistakenly (Days Inn 800# mistake - not ours) ended up at Days Inn Riverwalk Downtown (which is nowhere near Riverwalk) and stayed there one night, canceled the next two nights reservations (because it was just that bad) and came to this motel. The location is great - within a few blocks of Riverwalk, the Alamo, the mall, Ripleys and everything else. The rooms were nice. The bathrooms are in dire need of an update. The staff was friendly. The continental breakfast could've been better. Overall, it was a nice motel for the price and location. I would stay there again.

Pick your price
By Ted, 05/21/07
We planned a family reunion in the San Antonio area and chose the Days Inn San Antonio Alamo/Riverwalk as the place to stay due to it's close proximity to the riverwalk. By reserving our rooms in advance we felt that we would get the best rate. The price was advertised as Advance Purchase DISCOUNT on Days Inn web site. The discounted price we paid in advance for Sat night was $140.21 + tax and Sun night was $80.71 + tax. This reservation was not cancellable. A member of our group wanted to join us at this Days Inn and called the 800 number on the day before she wanted the reservation and was quoted $85.46 for Sat. and $67.46 for Sun. Another member in our party also had reservations for the same time frame but her rate was $164.95 for Sat. and $94.95 for Sun. Since she was able to cancel her reservations she called the 800 number and cancelled, and immediately rebooked for better rates. The rates she got was $94.95 for Sat and $74.75 for Sun. We tried to resolve the issue with the manager but the best answer we got is that we did not have to stay there but she would not refund our reservation price which we had to pay in full when we made the reservations several weeks earlier. We stayed as being stupid twice does not make you smart in the long run. The hotel staff advised us to contact Days Inn customer service. Upon contacting Days Inn customer service we were notified to resolve the issue with the applicable hotel manager. We are still stuck in this run-around mode.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
By Kelly J, 03/13/07
Definitely recommend it! This Days Inn is expensive for a motel, but cheap for it's location! The rooms were very clean, and the showers were hot. We slept comfortably and well. The continental breakfast was ok but the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. The best part of staying here is that it's walking distance- 3 to 5 minutes- to just about everything we wanted to see; The Riverwalk, The Alamo, Ripley's, Rivercenter Mall and IMAX. (...and we were walking with a 5-year old and a 9-year old.) (hint: If you get hungry and like Mexican food... "Casa Rio" is an awesome restaurant. They have incredible salsa, and amazing food at very affordable prices! We ate dinner, family of 4, for about 30 bucks!)
