keep going
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/11
After a long day of traveling ended up at the Hilltop. Should have know better when they charged for an extra person in the room. The room had spider webs and spiders to match. The carpet was stained with who knows what. The tub faucet would not stop running and found bug parts on the bed sheets. Worse room I have ever been in.

Good Stay For The Money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/23/11
We've stayed here twice with kids and dogs! Rooms were clean and well kept! Staff was friendly. Pools were nice.. Hey it's not the Hilton, but you can't stay at the Hilton for this kind of money! PLUS, it's right at the flea market!

Dirtiest hotel room I have ever seen.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/11
I just read TripAdvisor's list of "Dirtiest Hotels" and for a minute I thought they must have meant this one, but the number one was somewhere else in TN. This place was by far the worst, most dirty and terrible of all the places I ever stayed..that includes the hotel where there was crack paraphanelia in the drawers. Our first room had: Dirty underwear left from someone else in a drawer. A filthy sink. Mattresses that were so applling my husband wouldn't believe my description until he saw them for himself. (I check everything ebfore I bring in the kids and the luggage.) The carpet was stained and unvacuumed. There were BUG BODY PARTS under the sheets. Bedbugs, maybe? Ugh. I glanced out at the pool and shuddered. No way the kids were swimming in THAT. It was late at night and we had been driving all day so instead of leaving we asked for a different room. The manager put us in a "show room" up fron by the desk. It was vacuumed, at least, and the piles of bug bodies were confined to that space under the bed where the vacuum doesn't reach. There was no fitted sheet on one of the beds, only a flat sheet, but the mgmt had no more fitted sheets! And I do not know about the "restaurant" (which looked like a dive bar, actually) attached to the place as it was closed, but the breakfast there was about three kinds of dry cereal, white toast and some sad bananas. It was too late to leave that night; my husband was too tired. But it took our last night of vacation--not to mention the rare fun of staying in a hotel-- and ruined it completely. The rest of our drive home was a nightmare after one of the worst nights' sleep I ever had. I agree with another reviewer that said "better to stay in your car than sleep here."

What Happened?
By Tiff, 4/14/10
stayed 4/13/2010 Ok, First off bring back the old owners. I have stayed at this hotel about once a year for the last 5 years if not longer. The southern hospitaliy is way gone. This place use to be a very friendly and comforting place to stay. I feel the charm is gone "very sad". about 2006/07 This place had a great sence of southern charm. New staff is not the most friendly. I called 3 time's to the front desk and nothing called 3 more from my cellphone no answer. Pool said closed at 10 closed at 930 way sooner then posted. After that i went to the front desk and he was not helpfull at all. Very horrible front desk help very rude and not helpful. The best part of this stay was the bar. The bartender was amazing southeren hospitality fulling welcoming. She was great. Bar needs some work. Bar needs more then beer to drink. Diffently need food to eat. If you have appetizetrs ther customers will come. needs way more promotions. Hours are weird. friday staurday sunday tuesday. Who made that happen? in 2006/07 my rate of this hotel was a 10 or 5 stars in 2010 a 1 and or 1 star hotel. Recommendation- Resturant better pool hours new paint bigger showers better Front desk help at night. Praise's- Bartender amazing check-in amazing oustside look amazing

Not again in this lifetime!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/09
Sleep in your car before you stay here! No Kidding. You know theres trouble when you are told that you have to walk through a closet to get to your room. The only good thing was the roaches that carried our bags in for us. Thanks again for your lack of service!

,????
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/07
If you have children between the ages of 3 & 10 that are normal children that tend to make messes & you are planning to stay a week or longer, don't stay here. The housekeeping staff seems to think you are supposed to keep the room spotless (probably so they don't have to clean it)

I hated it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/07
The rooms weren't clean. Employees didn't seem concerned. Housekeeping needs serious improvement. Housekeeping spent most of their time in laundry smoking. I would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wonderful Southern Hospitality and Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/04
I have read some very critical reviews of this hotel and I must say that the people were either wrong or the place and management have changed. It has a wonderful view of the Tn foothills, friendly workers and clean spacious rooms where everything works perfect. The price is really hard to beat and so is the indoor restraunt's food.
