Not a comfortable stay
By Se7en, 11/26/05
This is a very old hotel and it shows in every aspect. My room was not what I would expect for the price I paid, and the service was certainly not friendly. The food in the restaurant was good, but ridiculous prices for the portions. I will not go back.

Run, don't walk
By M, 10/3/05
Run, don't walk back to you car and find another place to stay. Will have to go to Middleboro, Ky. about 5 miles. Most of the staff tried but they are fighting a losing battle. This motel is falling apart. The TV was about 10 to 15 years old and the volume would only go up about 15%. They changed the TV and it was fine. The air conditioner started squealing in the middle of the night and I had to turn it off. I had told the front desk about it earlier but it had stopped and we thought it would be OK. We opened the sliding glass door to let in cool air. The shower barely worked and the bathroom walls had been painted as close to the ceiling as a roller could go but never trimmed out. When we went to dinner we had to wait for the waitress to finish chatting on the phone so we could be seated. My wife and I were the only people in the dining room. Four or five other people came in just before we left. They all had to wait for the waitress to come out of the back to seat them. This was between 6:45 and 7:45 PM. The dinning room opened at 6:30 PM. The menu stated "Chef's Special", we ask what is the special tonight? She didn't know. We ask, "are the mashed potatoes made with real potatoes? She didn't know. We didn't ask any more questions. The steak I had for dinner was over cooked. My wife could not eat her green peas. These are just a few of the items plus the bed & pillows should have been rerplaced years ago.

Staff was very good
By Nicole, 7/13/05
Ramada corporate should invest better into this hotel. Great location, staff was friendly and helpful. Quite a few obvious places where "work" needed to be done, but I don't want to scare anyone away. The friendliness of the staff and the good food made up for the appearence of the hotel.

Great Views of the gap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/05
Have stayed several times. Better rooms are on the upper floors. First floor rooms just heavily used and show wear. Large pool. Staff always helpful. Advice would be to bring your own pillows and theirs are very thin and most uncmfortable. Cell phone works only as a pager due to poor signal (Cingular / ATT.
