We LOVE Litchfield!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/10
This August will be our 5th year staying at Litchfield! Every year we take a family trip to the beach with my parents. There are six of us and we love staying at the Lakeside Villas. We have stayed in different condos at Lakeside and loved everyone of them. They are very spacious and clean. The staff is always great. After the first stay - we knew we had found our place. I suggested Litchfield to my girlfriend at work a couple years ago and she is taking her family there next week. I know she will be hooked just as we were!

We took family vacation In May. We were 3 families and stayed in a 3 bedroom villa. Each room was nicer than the other. This was 3rd family vacation and by far the best we have shared. Litchfield offered quality service, outstanding resort with many amenities. We enjoyed renting bikes and the bike trail to Murrells Inlet for lunch. We enjoyed the pool and beach that almost seemed private. We dined at Websters which was fabulous. Our 2 grandchildren loved the lazy river, bucket dump and submarine. We loved the beautiful sunsets. We hope to make it back yearly. We loved Litchfields setup and accommodations and would like to stay oceanfront next year.

Would love to go back!!
By JessicaW, 6/19/08
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Litchfield. It was very spacious and we never felt crowded. All of the staff that we encountered was very helpful and delightful. The rooms were very clean and so was the pool was also! There are shuttles to the beach that was very convenient. The property was beautiful! My husband and I would definitely go back to Pawley’s Island and stay at the Litchfield Resort the next time we visit Myrtle Beach!!

Dont know if we'll go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/6/08
First off I would like to say that the resort its self is a nice layout and is convienently located. However that being said, the room that we had needed to be remodeled or at least touched up. The paint on the wall had chips and was non-existent in some parts of our 3 bedroom villa. The other thing, we booked 1 king, 1 queen, and 2 double beds. When we got there we found we had six twins. The hot water did not work in our showers. However the thing that we remembered is that these are not resort owned condos, but I believe they should do a better job inspecting them and keeping them up to par. So as of right now i would still give them another chance.

enjoyable

Comfortable and pleasant. Lakeside Villas are perfect for a week stay. Not right on the ocean, but in a beautiful gated community with lakes and marshes. Well maintained and clean.

Hidden Treasure

My husband booked this resort for our honeymoon back in 2005. I had been to the Myrtle Beach area several times, but always found the traffic annoying. Traffic is not a problem in Litchfield. I was delighted as soon as we arrived. The grounds are landscaped and kept so well, it provides the perfect atmosphere for a romantic getaway. Our room at the Bridgewater was spectacular. Breakfast and dinner at the resort restaurant were top notch. The staff was exquisite. Absolutely perfect. Last year we stayed at the Seaside Hotel, and though it was a walk from the beach if we decided to go early in the morning before the shuttles ran, it was also a beautiful well kept room. We will be planning on Litchfield every time we plan a vacation.

annual spring trip
By Mike, 8/19/07
We have been relaxing and vacationing for 10 days for the last 10 years. We have found this resort to be a remarkable experience, let alone a complete get away from people and traffic. We enjoy the sounds of the ocean and spending time on our balcony overlooking the ocean. It's funny how we started out by vacationing by ourselves. Our daughters came with us a few years back and now they come back every year with us. My niece, whom will be graduating next spring with her Masters in psychology, traveled with us a few years back, now we have to plan our trip when she is out of school. Unfortunately, next year she will have to work. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the conforts of home and the beauty of the ocean and beach, let alone the resort.

Nice Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/07
We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Seaside Inn and loved it. It was very private and quiet. A great place to relax, whether you want to go to the beach or the pool. We had no complaints and hope to return soon! A lot of bang for your buck!

Lovely location; dissappointing unit
By B, 5/26/07
Our family arrived at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort on the Tuesday before Memorial Day weekend. We chose this location after seeing the web site. The exterior of the resort looks like a place in Hilton Head. The landscaping is top notch. We stayed in an oceanfront 1 bedroom unit in the Bridgewater. The newly remodeled pool is beautiful and our 2 sons had a wonderful time at the pool, lazy river and hot tub. The view from the room is spectacular. Unfortunately there is no place for lunch anywhere near the pools/ beach. I had to get in the car every day to go the the Subway for sandwiches. Note the kitchen in the unit is really not a functional kitchen and can't be used for more than cereal and milk. Our unit was very poorly decorated, it was downright depressing and we were very dissappointed. I called the front desk to ask to be moved and she said the place was booked even though I know we were 4 days ahead of the Memorial Day weekend crowd. The sofa is shabby and the bedspreads are worn out and ugly. The linens are badly worn and the sheets are threadbare. When I asked for fresh linens one set was torn and one set was stained. We have stayed at many many hotels and resorts with this price point that do a much better job of decorating and maintaining their rooms. The management of this place needs to establish some standards for the unit owners so the units are nicely decorated and appealing. We won't be back to this beach location.

Disappointing rooms
My husband and I just recently returned from a stay in the hotel "suite" for our anniversary. What a letdown. The rooms were drab (at best), had a terrible smell, the "efficiency" was anything but efficient because it came with NOTHING. The front desk laughed when I told them that our efficiency did not have any utensils, plates, cups, etc. This is not provided (unlike anyplace else I have ever stayed). I did see the Seaside Inn and thought the 'suite' unit there looked much nicer. I was impressed with the grounds, and liked the pool area. The outside of the buildings can definitely use some sprucing up, however. Just consider yourself warned.
