What You Make It!
By JLR, 1/25/10
Fiance and I got there in mid-Sep '09 and had a nice time enjoying the Sunrise over the Atlantic most every morning of the 4 nights we stayed there. Yeah had a problem with the room key one night but they fixed it. Last night we stayed there the Chamber of Commerce had a get together there and for $10 we could join them for mingling and food hor-dourves. Hotel was a good jumping off place to visit Savanagh GA one day and Charleston SC another. They had there own restaurant so we didn't have to search for a place for breakfast if you didn't want to. So to all you naysayers out there, I say "It's what YOU make It.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/14/09
I travel weekly for business and I hate that Holiday Inn's aren't consistent like Marriott's. This place is over priced for what you're getting, but that's not the worst! My room was dirty and HAD A SWIMSUIT BOTTOM HYGIENIC LINER STUCK ON THE CHAIR in the room! I called and told the front desk about it...They didn't apologize even once... and when I came back tonight, my room had been made up, but IT WAS STILL THERE! I called again.. STILL NO APOLOGY!! HORRIBLE! Otherwise, the room is dirty, the microwave is dirty, the place desperately needs to be upgraded and hire a new staff!

What a ripoff!
By Scot, 8/30/08
Not worth the money! We spent $150 a night for this place. Yes, granted, it's on the beach so they get 5/5 for location. However, from the moment we got there nearly every part of the experience was bad. Too bad there's no option to give ZERO out of five stars for Service. The parking lot was completely insufficient for the number of guest rooms at this hotel, and there was a $9 per car per night charge slipped in there in the hidden fine print after we had been told the price for the room. One day, the hotel allowed an outside event to be held in the parking lot, and the lot was already full of cars from people who weren't guests (so we couldn't even use the parking places we were overcharged for!). The room keys would intermittently stop working in the middle of our stay, forcing us to go back to the front desk to get into our room. The stairwell was littered with construction materials, and the elevators in our building reeked of vomit (which the staff did nothing to try to fix). Some front desk staff were nice, but others were downright rude & unhelpful. The beds were quite comfortable with decent linens, but the rest of the room seemed poorly constructed. Waitstaff at the restaurant in the hotel's first floor were pleasant and cheerful, however were quite poor at service.

Yuck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/17/07
Next time I will book plenty of time in advance as this was the only place to stay at the last minute. On the day we arrived we overheard several complaining customers, keys not working being locked out of room several hours, no help, worst Holiday Inn they ever stayed at. We now were thinking, what did we do? Got to our room to find a smelly moldy room, which we were told was from the people leaving wet things there. We asked for another room, which we previewed, that was worse. The maid service was good, and the ocean was nice, but that is it. I wouldnt recommend this place, we came home with upper respiratory cough!!!

Great View but that's it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/06
What a joke. The view and the ocean are the only thing going for this hotel, and fortunately they don't control either. We paid $250.00 a night and the beds felt like you were sleeping on box springs and mold in the bathroom. Tiki bar needs to be controlled everyone from the beach comes to the bar doesn’t matter if they paid $250.00 a night. Whole hotel needs to be redone. I had to tell the front desk to clean up the throw-up from the night from off the sidewalk. Keeping driving this is not worth it at all.

For the money a good time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/06
The location can't be beat. It's right on the beach, shops and restaurants within walking distance. From what I was told it has the only beach bar on the island.. The room was clean. But the hotel itself needs maintenance and a good cleaning. Being right on the beach the hotel is starting to show wear and tear. For $125 a night it was worth it.

Will not be back!
By Jimmy Bale, 7/24/06
This was our third trip to Hilton Head and was planned at the last minute. This was the only oceanfront hotel available that was not pricey. The hotel was dirty from the mold growing in the shower to the disgusting chair pads on the chairs around the pool. We were there for three days and I don't think they cleaned the deck around the pool one time. It was full of sand. Also, in the hallway outside our room there was silverware that layed there for the whole time we were there. Parking situation is not great as a lot of people come here at night for the Tiki Bar and there is no one monitoring the parking. The security guard that patrols the pool area is creepy. This place needs a complete overhaul. Will spend more money next time...you get what you pay for.

tiki hut rocks
By Flyingdogaleman, 6/21/06
only thing is sometimes the marines can get out of control. but watching the beach volleybsll is worth the price of admission (free). the point is walk, ride, run to the tiki hut and check your additude at the hotel.
