Beach Colony Resort, Myrtle Beach

My sisters and I went down for a family trip. The place was not that bad. I asked my sisters to rate the place... We all rated it a 7/10: The reason it did not receive a perfect score were: 1. The beds were very uncomfortable, 2.The maids left our room unlock. What a shock to come back and fine your room open. 3. The master bedroom was not really a master bedroom, because the bathroom had the washer and drying in it, which made it very small. There was no cabinet space for your personal items. 4. The balcony needed more chairs. What we like about it was the room were accommodating for 5 people and my sister said the food and service were great. The person was quick to our call about the TV remote control for the DVD. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will more than likely return.

We have been going to the BeachColony for many years and hae always been extremely pleased with the units in which we have stayed. They have bee very clean and, except fo the time we were gven an overdecorated unit with a very high squishy bed, have been very comfortable. We will be going back on October 22 for four nights and can hardly wait. Therehave been a few glitches over the years, but the staff have always take care of them promptly and graciously. The staff has always been professional, friendly, and helpful. The parking deck is a little awkward, but easy to manuever if you read te posted signs and give the rght of way to others. Hey, you are supposed to be on vacation - take it easy & go with the flow. Judy, Sanford, NC . .

This is an awful place to stay,, dirty, unfriendly, and we had a terrible time.They towed our car out of their parking garage for no reason and would not even help us get it back. We had to pay a $138.50 tow bill and we were paying guest at this so called resort. I can't express this enough stay away or expect to have a awful vacation....l

I do not recommend this resort. We checked in on Friday and by Saturday we were checking out and going home. Our room had been robbed while some of us were on the beach and others were golfing. This was a family,8 of us, on vacation together.My wallet was stolen,my daughters wallet and jewelry were stolen and my grandson's video game was stolen.We filed a report with the police department in Myrtle beach. The officer was very sympathetic. The resort did not seem to care at all. If you do decide to stay here just be very careful with your valuables and keep them locked up. The officer said the best place to put them is in the trunk of your car.

loved the views. stayed on the 19th floor oceanfront. you can look far out into the ocean. room was big. beds not very comfortable. the pools and lazy river are nice. cheap breakfast. hot tubs stay crowded. The pool bar is great. Thomas at the bar is very friendly. nice location. not far from resturants or entertainment. great resort. other than the old microwave, nothing seemed out of date. lots to do while u are there. u will not want to leave. will come back!!!!!!!!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my gf...seems like this hotel was built 40 years ago and hasn't been renovated since. Originally booked an "Ocean front view" only to discover there was no balcony...and the "ocean front view" is side view of the ocean out a window...strike one Was upgraded to a "Direct Ocean view" room...this was better...with a seperate bedroom and dining area...except the furniture was old and the kitchen with micowave looked like it was from 1979 and also had a bad smell to it (the cupboards...the fridge)..strike 2 had a great view of the ocean but ANY hotel built in front of the ocean will give u the exact same view so i can't say this is unique to only the beach colony. has 3 pools...2 outdoor and 1 indoor...that's a plus...and a lazy river which is enjoyable...price was about $90 / night...ample free parking...is located technically in myrtle beach area but away from the grand strand...is more in a residential area with 2 other hotels around it. Would not come back simply because i like staying in modern up to date hotels...and this one simply didn't make the cut...if this doesn't bother u...book it...otherwise move on i don't recommend it at all

We have stayed here before we are lucky enough to go through VRBO and rented from the owners of 211. So no need to deal wiht front desk :) It is true that the units are individually owned so the standard can vary ALOT. Going through front desk you get what they give you ...We go to the owner and know which one we are getting. First floor up over looking the lazy river and ocean view and CLEAN Well looked after unit and everything you need even toys ,videos for the little ones..nice touch. Nicly furnished Very Clean Bedding and towels. Hotel has nice pools and things for teh kids plus on the BEACH....

We really liked this resort. It was great. We loved how the beach was right there. The rooms were big and cozy. We had 2 bedrooms 2 baths and a kitchen, dinning room with a dishwasher and all the utentils and dishes we needed. They even had a washer and dry in the rooms. The decks were great. We could see the ocean and the pool area. One thing we loved was our cars were located in a parking garage by our room. We didn't like going into the garage because we were afraid our suv was going to hit the top...If your car or suv is 6 ft over. Park down stairs!!! Or if your car is love to the ground.

This is an "owner" resort and even though it says "No Pets" the "owners" are allowed to bring their pets. So BEWARE if you have any type of allergies. Our first room smelled like a kennel.Had to move since I couldn't breath. Second room not much better.Entire place needs upgrading. Restaurant was closed,except for breakfast,which was nice and Thomas is the only asset to this place. Bar food was extremely limited and awful.To get pool towels you had to go to front desk and ask for them...Good luck. Slow am front dest clerk. RUDE pm front desk "supervisor"-Ken. Whole place could use COMPLETE over haul, from the rooms, to the staff. I would never "buy" one of these units. The place next door is nicer-Dunes Village Resort. Very family friendly and excellent staff. We went to the Anderson Ocean Club down the street and stayed 2 more weeks. Pricey, but worth it.

The service was awful the people stole from our luggage, the people who worked there were rude, and the hotel was not clean at all
