We will never go back there again!
By selena, 12/30/11
We stayed in a room with a heart shaped jaccuzzi, however we had no hot water in the shower and the jaccuzzi did not work. There was hair in the bathroom floor and the jaccuzzi that was not ours. The carpet was stained and the whole place smelled really bad. We stayed two days there and the fridge was not big enough to hold enough stuff, it looked more like a microwave than a fridge. Before I booked the resort, I checked to see if the resort has snow tubing and it said that it did, however when we arrived they told us that there was not enough snow to open the slopes and there was no winter sports whatsoever. The only good thing that they have is the horse back riding. Thank God for that, otherwise we were going to leave the day we arrived. We wiil never go back again there!

Should be called The Roach Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/5/11
We disliked everything!!! 1st- The door would not open to let us in to our "hotel" room 2nd-The place smelled really bad 3rd- Our child brought us a cracker from the floor that was not ours 4th-There were stains all over the carpet 5th- At night when we went to sleep I kept the bathroom light on...there were roaches in the bathroom at 5am....we packed and we were gone. We were to stay for more nights but after the one night there was no way I was going to stay again. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!! NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

The Most Disgusting Place Ever Stayed!
By naturelover, 6/6/11
First their check in and check out hours for villas are not convenient. Service we got at desk was horrible. Once we checked in to the room I almost threw up. Their bed was rocking like a chair like the headboard felt like it would fall apart and hit our head. Their queen beds are more of double beds. The room smelled like smoke when it was a non smoking room. I would have rather taken the 50 min drive to stay at a regular hotel. I couldn't help but put this review as soon we checked in. So If you still book this resort after reading this review, you might be the next one writing a bad review for them. Do not not not not stay here. I cannot emphasize enough . Absolutely nasty!!!!!!

needs customer service upgrade
By me, 10/20/10
I finally made it to a resort in the Pocono's and was looking to rest up from recent surgery. I found a Casino package deal here for $99 including a $15 voucher to Mt Airy. Now, I travel ALOT and have at stayed hotels of all ratings but I have NEVER been treated as insignificant as I was here!!! We arrived early & took a shot at checking in OR at least using the faciliites while we waited. The woman at the desk not only DID NOT ask my name, she simply stated the room wasn't ready & handed my a map of the property!!!! Soooo..we went away & came back. As I checked in, the same woman blankly looked at me & said (while holding my cedit card) that I owed $9 + change. I asked why and she flatly said "tax". My look of confusion prodded her on to add that "they only charged $99 to my card for the room"!!!! I had to ask her if she could just put that on the card too. My CC has NEVER been charged until I checked into a hotel. She sends me to another woman at the end of the desk who promply asks me to participate in a time share presentation. I kindly decline & ask about my $15 casio voucher. I was sent back to the other woman who insisted that I did NOT have one. Thinking that I could go online & show them my reservation confirmation I find out that there is NO free internet here...either in room OR a buisness center!!! I was sent to my room & told that we could park outback. The parking lot was filled w/ potholes & "out back" looked like the rear of a shopping center!!! We found the room. Our view was of the sheet metal building next door. There were no instructions on how to work ANYTHING in the room like the sauna. The booklet they offered mentioned calling Pizza Hut express to have a pizza delivered to the room......there was no menu to go with it! This is NO couples suite............... Now I am on a mission to prove to these people that I do, indeed, have a package deal. So....I spend 9.99 for 24hrs ATT&T wifi. Verified my email AND double their website. Then I tucked my laptop under my arm & head back to the front desk. Another girl decided to hear out my saga instead of getting me the supervisor that I asked for. I was prepared to flop open my laptop & show them the email when ANOTHER desk clerk jumps into the conversation to tell me that the intertnet access that I just paid for DOES NOT WORK anywhere but IN MY OWN ROOM!!!!! The other clerk proceeds to go into the back room, passes my problem on to the manager & they both come out to tell me that they are checking with "reservations"!! They could have done that the 1st time While I'm waiting for the results, I over hear another couple w/ Bushkill Falls Package problems......their tickets were not honored at the falls, they had to pay $20 to get in & were sent back to the hotel to dispute it where they were given a $16 credit on their bill!!! They were heading back inside to try again when the manager came out with my voucher! Not one person apologized or mentioned checking the reservation process incase there is an online problem. We do not advise going here unless you plan on getting a one star hotel at a four star price. I keep reading about the 4.5 million they spent over the last 3 yrs.... it WAS NOT spent at the Hotel part of this resort.... I agree w/ the reviews written by other weary travelers ....... BEWARE

Bed Bugs
By Jen, 8/23/10
My family and I love the Poconos but for The Fernwood Resort we were disappointed. The indoor pool made our eyes burn when we walked into the pool area. There were no towels for us. The gameroom staff was not very friendly. There was no explanation at check in or literature provided about the resort and how to do things. The kids center had few things to do throughout the day. The food court, closed a 4 p.m. No FREE Wi-Fi. Musty smell in our villa and cigarette burns in the carpet. Animal feces on the sidewalk, never removed the whole time we stayed. Lastly, my kids have bites all over their legs and arms, BED BUGS.

One time was good enough
By essassin, 8/25/08
Accommodations: 2 Bedroom villa is huge for a 4 person adult family. The full kitchen is great and there is a Foodtown down the road. For $140 we ate for 3days/3ngts; 3 full meals a day taking full advantage of the kitchen. The only problem is if you have loud neighbors, the rooms that face the corridor will hear the echoing noises. Our door lock was a little faulty where if you swiped the card the wrong way a couple of times, the mechanism would lock you out and we had to call someone from the inside to open the door. The A/C unit rocked. Its kind of like living in a temporary town house complex village. The unit we had was also older, we had the old intercom systems in our rooms, that kept making weird beeping noises. Didnt get to try the washing machine, but I assume instead of fresh linens and towels, its kind of do-it-yourself. Distance, Trolley, Things to do, Villa (Space, comfort), neighbors, staff (timeshare lady), food court, Horse Riding, Plus, near bushkill falls

Very Disappointing
By bbmaven, 8/23/08
1) Check line was so long it took 1.25 HOURS, only 4 people at the deask for about 150+ people 2) Resort is supposed to be non-smoking - our master bedroom reeked of cigarette smoke. 3) Except for the aqua aerobics instructor, staff was very unfriendly. 4) Our condo was in a general state of disrepair, (broken screens, frayed furniture and rugs, not really clean (killed 2 roaches). 5) Plumbing dripped continually and we actually fixed the one toilet ourselves. One good thing -- they gave us $100 to leave Friday instead of Sunday
