I wish this story was made up.

My friends and I wanted to go out in Scranton and this place seemed to be fairly cheap and have a good location. Well upon arrival, we noticed some shady characters casing the joint and snooping around our car. They came inside and made sure to stick around the counter long enough to see what rooms we were getting (in case they wanted to stop by later, if ya know what I mean). So we ignored all this and got our keys and went to our rooms. They were kind enough to give us adjoining rooms. Immediately upon entering my room, the room was so cold I could literally see my breath. (That isn't such a big deal). My room had a bit of an odor, but it was something I could've shrugged off. The adjoining room we booked was a whole different story.
Things I had a REAL problem with:
1. The door connecting the rooms was OBVIOUSLY kicked in and the lock rigged to work just good enough to keep a door shut.
2. Upon venturing to the sink there were quite a few hairs, each about 3" long. I don't want to know any more about the origin of those hairs.
3. Right near the towel rack there was a bloody fingerprint on the wall. Then from that spot down the wall, there was a stain from blood trickling down the wall. There was a similar blood pattern on the inside of the bathroom door.
4. The final straw was as I looked outside, I saw that there was still some police caution tape around the fence in front of the doors to our room. I'm no detective, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that some type of incident happened in our room before we got it. I would've offered to clean the place up, but I'm not sure forensics was done with it.
LUCKILY, we made sure to pay in cash and got a full refund. All of this happened within 15 minutes of us walking into the door of our rooms. My friends and I have no problem staying in shady hotels and/or in shady places in towns. We've done so quite a few times. But this place was a bit too much to handle. Good luck.
