What a disappointment!

We had seen the Inn from HWY 101 South on several ocassions and were very excited about finally being able to stay there. Be careful what you wish for! The Inn is old and in badly need of repair. What I first noticed was the filth of the hallway carpets. They were not only in need of replacing but they also were not vacuumed daily or at all during our stay. Then, we entered what had been portrayed on the web as a beautiful studio. It wasn't. Again, it was older, the furnishings much to be desired, and the bathroom and closet so small (all one room) that we could not wheel our smallest suitcase inside. The bathroom floor has obviously had some mold damage and even though a new piece of flooring was laid on top, the mold could still be seen through the new floor. The screen door to our patio was ripped and non funtional. We calleed maintenance and asked them to fix it for us. 24 hours later, we had a new screen door but spent the first night without one. The coup de gras, however, was the black sludge that dripped from the ceiling of our patio into a collection trough on the patio floor. We noticed that all the patios had this device but we were the only patio with any black water collection. We inquired about the possiblity of mold especially after two days, a sore throat and allergy flair up. We were told they would see if they could move us. Overall, the experience was a dismal one. Our health may well be compromised, and I am so sorry we decided to try the Inn at Spanish Head. It may well have been a one of a kind experience 30 years ago, and it certainly still is. Not a one of a kind I want to repeat, however. You can buy a whole lot more for $200+ a night on the Oregon Coast!
