Horrible experience, Great Location.
By Big Stake, 01/02/09
If this hotel did not have an awesome location, everything about this hotel would be bad! The staff was not helpful and could care less about us. The rooms were very old and had an awful smell! When we first got off the elevator, we were walking down the hallway to find the room doors beaten up. Breakfast staff was VERY rude when I asked if they had more bagels, she said, "What you see is what you get"! Plus the breakfast is just a waste of time! I DO NOT reccomend this hotel at ALL!

Nice Place!
By Mean Gene, 07/09/08
My wife and I travelled to Portland this past April to see a certain stand-up comedian at a local comedy club. We found a great rate of $54.95 online at their website, a "Manager's Special". For as little time as we actually spent in the room, it was more than a great bargain! The MAX is within walking distance and a nearby Denny's served up a fantastic breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze and the room was just fine. We'll happily stay there again on our next visit to the Rose City!

You won't believe the employees
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/07
I've never stayed at a hotel with such happy, helpful employees. Location is great, you can get everywhere on the nearby max. All employees refused tips saying it was part of their job. The first night someone came around with a cart filled with items you may have forgotten or would like (combs, tooth paste, pillows, snacks). The front desk helped us get dinner delivered from a local restaurant. The bed was comfortable. We only had a shower but for the price who could complain?

Best deal in Portland
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/06
Rooms were clean, but small. Bathrooms (shower area) very small and condensation from toilet tank got floor all wet.Beds were very comfortable. Heavy footed neighbors were quickly taken care of by a very responsive staff. Ammenities were great, especially the continental breakfast! Great variety and lots of food! Can't say enough good about the staff. Very responsive to problems, very up-beat and seemed very glad that we were there! Got great rates thru the convention we attended, but got additional 10% off for inconvience (noisy neighbors)! That was offered, not asked for! Older facility, but close to everything we wanted to see. We will be back the next time we go to Portland!!

Fair value, nice people
By Stan, 09/26/05
The La Quinta located near the Convention Center in Portland offers a great deal for all. During my stays there I have been impressed by the quality of service, clean accommodations, quiet(for such a busy area)and convenience to local convention center and sporting events. The light rail and bus servives are extrememly close and much appreciated. For the business traveler, families, and those of us who just want "to get away" for the much needed break occasionaly at an affordable price the La Quinta is a good choice.

La Quinta offered an excellent value for the money, a very convenient location close to the airport, and most fantastic breakfast bar ever! Highly recommended.

So much more to see!
By chacalit, 08/27/05
I enjoyed the hotel because when traveling you need a convient and comfortable hotel that doesn't brake you. This was a last minute hotel and was still worth the stay.
