Hallmark Resort, Newport

Had a room with a fireplace, balcony over looking the Pacific Ocean, Mini bar/kitchenette, at the furthest end of the property. I was told the units near the lobby, pool and restaurant are timeshares. Room was clean, quite, warm, and in January the fireplace was a great thing. The restaurant had very good food, at all times of the day and night, with great views of the ocean and property. Clean and good waitstaff. Indoor pool was lighted and in use most of the night, but in a separate building by itself, so there was no noise. Visiting with family for the Holidays. I traveled from Cape Cod Massachusetts. I am glad I stayed here, even if it was the other side of town, from family.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable we thought, especially compared to a couple other places we had stayed on the coast. Room service was great as is the Restaurant. The beach was wonderful to walk on. Great access. We had dogs and appreciated the complementary dog baskets in the room plus the dog walking area we liked. All in all expensive but if you can afford it......we thought it was worth it. We cannot afford to go there every time but would love to go back!

We first stayed here on the way back from California. We'd been to Cannon Beach and Seaside in prior years and were looking for lower rates and pet friendly. We love the ocean front balcony, easy beach access, galley kitchen, gas fireplace, 2 TV's, and free internet access. Our room has always been large and clean, the beds are comfortable, and if something's amiss it is fixed right away. We come to relax for a week, so this is the right place! Lots of good eating spots nearby, including Georgie's next door, and outlet shopping is 30 minutes away in Lincoln City if you need retail therapy. Enjoy walking to Nye beach and the Bay Front is just a short distance.

My girlfriend and I thought the hotel is fantastic. We loved being so close to the beach, and having the deck facing the beach. The hottub in the room is very nice. The room service from the resturant is also very good, we got exactly what we ordered, and the way we wanted the food cooked. We will definatly return.

Right on a great beach. Just a short drive or brief walk to old harbor and resturants. Small town, not much to see; but great beach.

Love the rooms with fireplace and hottub. Awesome ocean view! Great deck and nice sitting area. Room service needs improvement and poolwas super crowded!

This was where we went for our honeymoon. They had rose petles all over and candles it was the perfect setting. The view was faboulous!!! We can't wait to go back.

To start we reserved the suite with its own hallway which locks which didn't keep the maids from coming through the locked door and then through the rooms locked door to walk in with out warning. Then the phone in the room didn't work and had to be replaced. As well as the hot tub was not functioning so we had to have the staff come up again which was not any help since it was us who ended up fixing the hot tub which in our horror started producing a red substance when the jets where turned on. The shower had hair on the walls and in the drain and also in the sink. One of the glasses on the sink had lipstick marks on it. Then comforter smelled of cigarettes as well as the patio was littered with cigarette butts. To say the least we were rather disappointed and told the desk which did nothing help. Then to top that we wrote to emails of compliants and a phone call and we received in the mail three weeks later a postcard saying thanks basically for writing to their email address. Ouch!

all though the hotel was full with a convention ,except for two suites, we payed full price for two of thier best rooms at 10pm,no help with price.did not offer the use of the pools after a nine hour drive.checked out in the morning.Iam coming back with reservation with three of our grandkids a month later,i will assume that the people at the desk at that time were not typical hallmark.,returning 10/26/06

we loved this place we stayed about 5 days here and had everything we needed! the beds were very comfortable, the service was great! and the best thing of all it was close to everything!! we will be back for sure....we recommmend!!
