Beautiful Location But Terrible Restaurant Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/11
We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the location and hiking in the surrounding areas. At first we were raving about the place and really enjoying ourselves until dinner. They were serving a seafood buffet, but after 10 minutes of no crab legs we finally asked how much longer it would be and that's when they noticed they were out and started the next batch. It was at least 20 minutes before we could enjoy some crab legs. Our waitress paid very little attention to us and they were not that busy. Having been a waitress for years I have a lot of sympathy, but this was just ridiculous. We eventually had to track some one down to take our credit card after waiting for another 10 minutes and our waitress isn't even the one who brought it back. But the worst was yet to come....the next morning we went back for breakfast (that we had already paid for) and already knew we wanted to order off the menu rather than getting the buffet again. We sat for 10 minutes without a single person asking us if we wanted a drink or ANYTHING!! We couldn't get anyone to make eye contact with us even though they kept walking right past us. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen, never been treated that way before. And again, the restaurant was maybe 1/4 full and the waitstaff was not running around frantic. We finally left after another table was seated 2 tables away and were approached by a waiter before even setting their things down!! Remember, this was a breakfast we had already paid for. It just wasn't worth it anymore. Restaurant Service will keep us from ever going back again. That's a shame because it's a beautiful place.

Unbeliveable experience
By William, 11/7/11
Everything about the resort was first class. We went for a weekend and can't wait to return for a week. Do not miss this hidden gem!

service and dining
By Michael Vogelsong, 2/12/11
you have the best cook josh since the early 1990's. your breakfast buffet was outstanding, miss kitty and your maintenance man as waiter and waitress is also the best service since the early 1990's. would like to see another tennis court like you had with the old lodge.

Loved it! Can't wait to go back!!
By Mary Coox, 4/28/09
It was my husbands 50th birthday and it couldn't have been better!!. We had a room overlooking the lake with a backdrop of the mountains which was simply beautiful! A thunderstorm came in and we had a georgous light show over the lake from our back porch for about 2 hours. Dinner at the lodge was wonderful-for $9.99 you get a full buffet and everything was wonderful. For breakfast they also have a buffet which was great too. If you want to get away from it all to a peaceful place to relax this is the place! The only thing I wish they would add is a full service spa to complete the experience but overall it was wonderful.

very nice for a lake stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
I loved the location of the hotel, next to the lake. It is located close to other places to eat and a small grocery store.

Overview of Property
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/14/05
This hotel was an absolute diamond in the rough. The location was very remote and scenic. The hotel has been completely remodeled within the past 5 years. The rooms are very clean spacious and new. The restaurant was better than average and the pricing was very reasonable. It is by-far the nicest place to stay in the southwest quarter of the state of Oklahoma. The only problem is the distance to any larger town or city. Probably 15 to 20 miles, but that's fine if you are looking for a weekend away or a secluded place to hold a business conference. The hotel boasts one of the only full-liquor bars in the southwest corner of the state, and an 18 hole better than average golf course. Overall, a great value for the money, and the best hotel option within a 150 mile radius.
