Stay Somewhere Else
By Matthew, 8/18/08
When we arrived at the Terrace we had to circle the city block three times before we could park. 6th Street is very busy and there is a small area in the front used for valet, but it was full. We went to the parking lot around the side of the building, and carried all of our stuff quite a way. The check in counter is on the 8th floor. We got there only to wait in line for about a half an hour. Then they couldn't find our reservations. Four of us were going to a Reds game and had made the reservations 4 weeks prior. This was a mess, even though we had our reservation confirmation info. They had to make all new reservations for us. We got up to our room on the 10th floor, and at this point I noticed the whole place seemed very run down. Watch your step in the halls, you could trip on the carpet that is coming apart. The room was small and musty, and our orignal reservation was for two king beds. There was one king bed and a couch. We called the desk and they told us the couch folded out into a bed. When we told her it didn't, she told us all of their couches folded out. Guess what, it didn't. After the second call downstairs, maintenance brought us two roll-away beds that felt like sleeping on a sheet on springs. We went to the Reds game and returned to find the bathroom sink (that looked like it was ready to fall apart) had leaked and water was covering the bathroom floor. Of course I was the one who had changed clothes and left them in the floor so they were soaked. I called and complained about all of this, and they did send up a maintenance guy, but did no service recovery what so ever. The bar tender at the very small bar area on the 8th floor was nice, but they closed at 12 on Saturday night. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We have stayed at the Garfield Suite two times prior (they were booked that weekend) and I would recommend that place to anyone. Good luck.

Not at all what you might think
By Barrington Lewis, 6/27/08
Sheets are old - rat bites in sheets; carpet needs to be replaced throughout entire building; old ceilings; funny smell; rusted bathtubs; Please beware... Service is adequate though...

Not EVER AGAIN!
By jeffrey g, 9/29/07
From the moment our party arrived until the moment we left our stay was a chaotic nightmare. From the beginning the room we reserved was not the one we were given. We confronted the staff on the matter and were told there was nothing they could do. The bartender was unaware of basic drinks and refused to serve many customers more than 2. A guest of our party was not allowed to reenter the hotel at 2AM while taking his dog for a walk as the hotel lost the paperwork for the animal. The continental breakfast was absolute garbage. Upon checking out we witnessed the valet gunning around the streets in our car. A member of our party's vehicle was damaged by the valet, the valet gave false documents for him to sign then accosted each of us after we called the police to report the damage. Management was then contacted the following Monday, Marty the Manager refused to reimburse more than $20 dollars of the visit. He likewise laughed in disbelief as the behavior of his staff was reported. This was the worse hotel experience of a lifetime, and would not recommend a stay here on even the French.

sharp downfall in quality offered lately
By Suzanne, 9/14/07
The Terrace was a decent place to stay up until about May of 2007. The bar was open and friendly with football games, karaoke, etc and the staff was courteous. Mejana (restaurant downstairs) was amazing Mediterranean food. However, over the summer, things changed. The bar closed completely, Mejana moved out, and they are running on about 3 staff members that I can tell. The rooms are pretty dumpy, toilets and showers leak all over the bathroom floor, the hallways and dim and mustly smelling. Upgrades to corner suites were offered occasionally in 2006 and early 2007, but now not at all. Even the relatively cheap price doesn't compensate for all the minuses. I went to a soda machine on EACH floor and NONE of them worked. The desk person could not find any bottled water at all. Very unfortunate to have this happen when its location is so good downtown. Would not recommend.

Good Location
By Jack, 6/1/07
Right in the middle of things. Note, that there is a $20.00 per night for parking. Fair free breakfast, good coffee. Unusual lobby makes checking in complicated.

Terrace Hotel
By Ron, 4/27/07
The room was very pleasant, clean, and spacious and the hotel staff courteous and helpful. It was also the most economical I could find in midtown Cincinnati.

Fire Hazard Waiting To Happen
By prduke, 2/26/07
Horrible!! There was one set of Stairs to use. And this set was locked. We had to get a security guard to unlock it. Once in the stairs, they were dimly lit. We came to the end and the only thing we could do was go out a door. Unfortunatly, that door lead to the 4th floor fireescape and locked behind us. No prob we thought, we can just go down the fire escape. Until we noticed that the fire escape was permantly welded up -- could not get down. A police officer saw us and had to call the fire dept. Luckily another party did the same thing we did came out the door and was able to let us back in.

You people flaming this place are nuts!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/07
I read a lot of reviews AFTER booking this place for the V-Twin Expo. Got a bit worried! But it was a HUGE relief when we actually walked into the lobby. Yes, the lobby is on the 8th floor, but it is very nice. The lobby bar is very cozy and is pretty much limited to hotel guests since it is not on the street. The rooms are older, but completely servicable and reasonably clean. (Did notice some smoke stains on the bathroom ceiling, but hey, it's a smoking room bathroom!) Everything worked fine. The bathtub does take somebody smart enough to figure out how the drain works, but if you can flame a place on the web you should be smart enough to work a drain! The staff was wonderful, EVERY PERSON we dealt with was friendly and acted glad that we were there. Given that the Terrace was 50 bucks a night less than the Hyatt, and a SHORT walk to the convention center, I would not hesitate to reccomend it. I have certainly paid a lot more for a lot worse!

Never Again
By SallyO, 12/18/06
Horrible expirience. Drab, VERY VERY DIRTY. Windows didnt open, air conditioner did not work. Tub did not drain, and had to stand in 5 inches of water to shower. Staff could care less. Heavy hall doors, slammed all night. Drunk guy (had the wrong room?) Pounding on my door at 2 am, and security was slow to come up, and they ended up discussing in loud voices his lock out in front of my door until nearly 2:45. I did not have a car, but fellow guest shared with me (over watery juice and stale muffins during "breakfast", his window was smashed out and his car robbed while "valet" parked. Lobby on 2nd floor. ANYONE can take elevator from street level up into the hotel.

Not bad and not too great either
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/06
Rooms were not the cleanest. Bathrooms weren't that clean either. Valet service was a joke. I had a rental car and when it was ready to go I found it parked on the street with another car's front bumper smashed into the back bumper of my rental. Luckily after I inspected it there was no noticable damage, but its the principle of the situation that infuriated me. Also, after I vented to the staff about this, they were still expecting a tip from me which they did not receive. The only real positive was that it was blocks away from the Reds ballpark in a very convenient location. I got to see my Chicago White Sox beat the Reds too. That helped me forget the negative aspects of this hotel.
