Quaker Square, Akron

Had to be the dirtiest hotel rooom I have ever been in. Moved twice and both times the rooms were dirty. Very hot also. The breakfast restaurant is extremely hig priced and the food is only so so.

Loved the history of the hotel. Very unique. Good food. Near university. Stayed here twice each time was excellent. Great staff.

I ran the Akron Marathon and booked at the Quaker Square Inn because it was close to the starting line. When booking, we were told that we could have a late check in because we would not finish the marathon in time for the on-time check out. I paid $50 more than most other hotels for the convenience. However, they denied the late check out request and I ended up showering at a YMCA. It was awful. There's nothing like wandering downtown Akron after running 26 miles in search of a shower because your high-priced hotel would not accommodate. The night clerk was rude. The day clerk simply stated that the manager set the policy for runners. The manager made no apologies. Maybe they just decided to put the squeeze to the runners of the Akron Roadrunner Marathon. Or maybe this is always the way they treat guests. Either way, it's not good.

Being an architect major it was very interesting the room and how it was converted from silos to hotel.. and it has a rich history :-)

All in all It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at SweetHotelDeals. N e t They usually have some pretty good deals on there.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Crowne Plaza Quaker Square Inn. The round rooms (converted grain storage silos) are large and very comfortable, very clean and easily accessed. The round rooms have nice city views, especially on the upper floors. Unique hotel in that respect. On site restaurants are very good and resonably priced. Too bad that the adjacent Quaker Square shopping complex has been yielded to many non-retail businesses, although the oatmeal cookies are still available. Close to Inventor's hall of Fame and John S. Knight Center. A strong positive recommendation.

I was very disappointed in the service we received at a wedding reception we held there. The dishes were dirty, the coffee cold, the rolls stale, the staff rude, and very little seating for the cocktail hour. It was not worth the money we invested to have a good time.

23 August 2006 We stayed here two weeks ago for just one night. The hotel is lovely but the daytime receptionist did not seem to like people. However the young man in the late evening could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our biggest problem was the bedding. The sheets were badly pilled - not nice to sleep in! Linens in the USA are much cheaper than in the UK. Please buy some new sheets. I would try this hotel again.

Did like that hotel, well located . Very original concept "to sleep in a silo". Restaurants around. No car needed. Very large rooms with desk, chairs... Air conditionning unit not enought specialy in winter
