Worst Hotel in the U.S.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/05
We stayed at Kenwood Inn over Memorial Day weekend. It has been booked through Hotwire, and that wasn't an issue. The issues were:
1) This hotel charged our credit card for the room beyond the Hotwire charge. We did not learn this until we got our credit card statement.
2) The hotel has no working phone number to dispute the charge.
3) During the stay, the room started our as being a marginally clean hotel. However, after our second night, housekeeping did not come in and make up the room. We did not expect new sheets, but were talking about housekeeping not coming in at all. No towels were left, garbage cans were untouched, etc. We asked for towels & were told by maintenence/front desk that it was not their problem. We ended up having to use pool towels.
4) The restaurant was not clean and service was uncaring or distracted.
We are generally not too picky when we travel as a family. But there are basics you expect, especially since this had been rated as a three star hotel.
We hated it!
