BEST WESTERN PLUS Seven Seas Hotel & Waterpark, Mandan

The resturant was great. Karen the manager was geat when she tried to fix our reservation. I called for a King private/ living room with a pull our couch for our children. We need to come for medical reasons in the area, so we also wanted a private weekend.We ended up not getting the rate we wanted, but she did put us in a presidental room. The room was very dusty, which I had to clean before our daughter could come in. There was food and drink stains on the walls, furniture and in the carpet under the sofa sleeper. We could not leave the hotel because no hotels had any openings in the area. The bathroom was the nicest part except for the broken handle in the tub. The front end help really need to work on kindness, and telling people on the phones to wait. I had to wait to check in until there were no more calls coming in which ended up to be 10 calls before I got any true help. The pool area was fine, but the hot tub was very dirty and alot of children were in there unsupervised. 4 starts for resturant, Karen ( manager) was great.

The only good thing about this place was the food. They have no customer service at the hotel. The front desk is rude and not polite. They could care less if you stay there. They are there for one reason and thats a paycheck! not only had i stayed there a few night this weekend i also was there for few nights with in the last month. It was my grand daughters baptism so we rented rooms there for the family and also rented a conference room to have enough room for the family to watch the gift unwrapping and to eat lunch and supper. The weather wasnt great and we didnt have as many people come from out of town. I was already there the night before and knew i wasnt going to need these two rooms so i went down to the front desk to cancel them. i trusted the lady that was supposed to be doing her job to cancel them for me. I recently got a bill from the credit card company and on there were chrages for these two extra rooms that i had told the lady to cancel! I have tried to to get my money back which is a total of more than $240. They said i can not have my money back and thats it they dont care to talk about it that was just the bottom line. very shitty customer service probably the worst from any hotel in north dakota. dont ever trust the people at the front desk and make sure they give a cancellation number like they would if you cancelled them over the phone. She did not even ask if i wanted a cancellation number so make sure you do her part of the job and ask her for one because canelling rooms in person is not enough proof to them i guess they would just love to take advantage of you!! i rate this a one and thats just because the food is good!

Jill at the counter was a crab and not very plesant to deal with the rooms were ok but the beds were aweful. the lounge desided to close at 11pm on a day they had a big conferance with 200 people there they ussally close at 1am. not very nice hotel its also out in the middle if nowhere with no places to dine at except i the motel itself and that is way over priced. all in all it was a bad place the people were crabby and I hope they move the Conferance from this hotel back to the Comfort inn in Bismarck

This was a treat that my husband and I gave to ourselves and our toddler son over the Thanksgiving holiday; to stay in a nice hotel with a great pool while still visiting family in town. However, we ended up not staying the entire trip. As soon as we walked into the room, it was late in the evening so it was dark and the first light switch by the door didn't do anything! I had to make my way into the dark room to find a lamp so we could see. My husband noticed that the small fridge in the room had water leaking from it. We decided to head to the pool to try and relax and found there was absolutely no towels and when my husband went to the desk he was told 'they would see what they could do'. Very disappointing. The worst of it had to be one of the glasses in the room...filthy! Greasy and fingerprints all over it! I wouldn't have let my dog drink out of it. The layer of dust that was by the tv was so evident you could see it from across the room. Just makes you wonder what else was dirty! Needless to say we checked out of the hotel the next morning. It is just rather disappointing when I thought we were splurging on a great hotel and ended up with what we got. Now when we checked out, they did give us $25 off of our bill for the stay, but really...we were expecting an entire weekend with them and ended up having to move hotels instead. Hardly worth the $25!

I stayed at the BWSS with my two preschoolers. I was extremely disappointed. The service was terrible. There was only one desk-attendant and I waited in line 25 minutes just to check in. Once checked in my keys didn't work, the remote didn't work and the bathroom was filthy. When I called to ask for assistance with the remote, the attendant was again far too busy to help. He was very kind and I felt sorry that he did not have any help as he was answering non-stop phones while checking in customers. It was ridiculous. The water park was okay, however, I found it very difficult to supervise my children as one section of the park was not visible from the other. I had planned to stay here on my return trip, but will be canceling my reservation.

I booked a room for a wedding using the Best Western website and reserved a room with a crib. Since I booked it with this reservation, I didn't bring the pack and play along which saved me a lot of space in the car. We checked in and were told that a crib would be brought in for us soon. We went to the room, which was a pretty long walk away from the front desk, pool, dining room, and everything else. Parking though was easy with many exits to the parking lot. We got ready for the wedding reception and after an hour and a half, we went to the reception. After dinner, I asked about the crib at the front desk and was told that all of them had been taken eventhough I had reserved one... I have made "cribs" with blankets and pillows before but they didn't have any extra of those either! So, I took a load of towels out of the waterpark and used those. What I recommend is to not trust the website or any prearranged guarantees with this place... What a hassle.

Properties waterpark is perfect for all ages, even small toddlers. Service is outstanding throughout the property. Appears to have had a recent addition and the new rooms are awesome. Looks like the original rooms are being redone also.

Has a great indoor pool system/ water slide which the children really enjoyed. Rooms were clean, but dated. Appreciated the availability of the refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. The layout is not really convenient, as it is a long walk from the front desk to the rooms. Morning staff tend not to be as friendly and welcoming as PM staff, as observed over the five day stay (Picture on the web site is old, needs updating and could be deceiving)

I just looked up the Seven Seas again for a Thanksgiving being spent with relatives. I chose the hotel for its easy access and rooms with no extra charge microwave and fridge. The staff has always been friendly and the services good. I have stayed in Bismarck also but have returned to the Seven Seas for its access, restaurant, friendliness, and generally good service.
