Modern Crisp & very Clean. Great Location
I wanted to write this review because this hotel has several reviews here from a time when this hotel was under different ownership/or remodeling to it's current status. I hope that Four Points will get more positive reviews as it is a very nice hotel. Firstly, the hotels location is great. Due to the heat and rain of July, we chose to drive into downtown, which is literally only 2 blocks and could easily and safely be walked. The hotel itself was quite nice. Crisp, fresh and very, very clean. I have to give our room a 100. We could not find any problems with cleanliness at all. The rooms decor was more to my taste than most traditional hotels offer. The carpet was modern, the furniture modern with clean lines, the artwork was even a nice touch being nicely framed art photograhy from architectural jewels around town. The bed was amazing and the linens were as crisp and clean as if they had never been used. The flat screen wall mounted TV is soon to be de rigueur, but at present a nice touch. With a sidenote, the TV may be a flat screen, but do not expect high definition TV. Standard resolution only and I think there were only 25-30 channels and not all of them were decent quality to watch. I think we have already gotten hooked having HD TV at home for almost 9 months.
The check in at Four Points was the fastest I have ever had at any hotel, anywhere in the world. Being asked for my name and ID, and that was basically it. I was almost taken back, no forms to fill out, no wait, no, "let me see if I can find you in our computer...." just wonderfully fast and very polite service. Once again you get a 100! Check out was just as easy.
If I simply had to find something negative to write, I could agree with other reviews about the bathrooms at Four Points as they are tight on space. Yes, they are. They are quite small. If you are above 5'7" you may want to be careful in the bath as you could easily bump your head on a chrome towel shelf that is attached to the wall opposite the commode. We noticed this right off, but it was not problematic to us in any way. There is little room to spread out products/cosmetics on the sink surface, but once again, this was not an issue for us as we are guite used to living out of our travel bags. I'm always stymied when hotel guests revile a hotel because things like this aren't exactly as they have at home or wish them to be.
Oh yes, and while we did not buy a sample of the pies that are mentioned in their literature, the wonderful faint apple pie smell in the Lobby area was quite nice. It almost made me want to give up watching the calories. I really had to resist.
