The hotel is accessible by all public transportation including the 51st Street and Lexington Avenue subway of the Marilyn Monroe fame. The Grand Central Station is nine blocks away. Guests may also enjoy the fitness center. Bait and Switch! I Won't Be Back!

Stayed there once before and it was a full service hotel. I pre-purchased several nights this trip only to learn after arriving that the hotel no longer offers such basic services as room service (except at night) and the restaurant is rarely open. You can't even get a cup of coffee sent to your room in the morning, yet they charge the same as a full-service Midtown hotel! When I complained, the general manager never returned my call. When I called again, the manager on duty told me with great sarcasm that "life is full of disappointments." There are many, many options for better NY hotels at this price range. I will not be back.

WORST HOTEL

THIS HOTEL IS AWFUL, AND THE STAFF IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. NOT ONLY DID I HAVE TO CHANGE MY ROOM BECAUSE IT SMELLED BUT HOUSEKEEPING DIDNT BOTHER TO CLEAN MY ROOM THE NEXT MORNING

IT IS A FANTASTIC HOTEL WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY ALL YOU NEED.. IS PERFECT TO GO WITH YOUR PAIR... FANTASTIC..... THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN IT.. AND THE RESTAURANT IS VERY NICE...

Major Crisis w/ No computers - reservation data

Bad start w/ over 60 vacationers waiting for check-in, room assignment. We arrived around noon and we were told to return around 3 pm due to a computer crash. Returned at 3 and around 60 people in lobby waiting, no plan in place, no waiting list had been initiated. Room not cleaned the following day, so I approached a housemaid on the floor, and she rudely stated "not my room to clean!" For three days, the same dirty drinking glasses sat in the hallway of our floor. Courteous front desk clerks. The real burn was that we had to pay to have them store our luggage on site while they worked out the room assignments manually.

excellent location

This hotel's location was perfect for all the things you would want to walk to in NYC. The only thing that I didn't like is a jacket I left in the lobby bar wasn't returned. My fault, I know...but I expected more honesty from the employees.

not as good as I thought it would be

Old, small unkept rooms. Cracked walls. Stained carpet..Needs a complete makeover. For the same price I should have stayed where I normally stay-at the Sheraton. I expected this to be as good. I will never stay again. This hotel should not be rated a **** star by Yahoo. More like a ** star. Maybe it's time they updated their information

The hotel was perfect. Rooms were nice and big and the cookie was the best. Good size bathrooms for NY and the location was right outsdie the subway line.

PROS: Great location, concierge very knowledgeable with no attitude, staff very friendly, Beds are very comfortable, rooms clean CONS: Walls are thin, hear neighbors -- bring wax ear plugs. Would recommend -- got great internet deal, 154 a night

Not Good

Not a true DoubleTree Hotel. Jr Suites are not resonable... no door to the sink area of Bathroom...... Not clean looking. Cable selection is bad, remotes don't work. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Affinity down the block.

Don't stay here!

The room we got had a big cockroach in the bathroom. They let us switch rooms, but they were pretty non-chalant about it and even reached the point of making fun of us when we complained. Kind of made me think that it probably happens all the time. If you want to pay up to 300 bucks a night, along with some roaches, then go ahead, otherwise you're better off spending a little more for a non-roach infested place and with a less rude staff.
