Beautifiul Lake Placid, but terrible hotel
The halls in this hotel were dark during daylight hours because of power failures.
Second, the cause of these power outages was very unseemly construction that was taking place and which you did not inform your guests about in advance.
Third, after eating a buffet style meal at this hotel--in which several dishes were only slightly warm--I got sick. Such food and beverage service is below an acceptable standard.
Fourth, the 'suit' which we were given was completely in appropriate in many ways. Not only did it have only a view of a noisy parking lot (something which for a Lake Placid resort is of the lowest level of accommodations), but the room itself was still under construction with black makings on the walls in places where renovations need to be done and curtains only partially hung. Moreover, it did not have wireless internet as advertised.
As you can imagine, this hotel offered a very stressful stay.
While I understand that hotels regularly undergo renovations, I believe that it is inappropriate to offer rooms to guest before these renovations are completed and in conditions which do not meet the minimum standards of habitability.
