Worst Hotel Ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/04/09
This was my 5th time to New York but my 1st time staying at the Milford Plaza and I have to say it was the worse place I have ever stayed at. Management there were the most unhelpful I have ever come across they do not want to help you in any way at all. We had a room, which was classed as a double deluxe room, I am not sure where they got the deluxe from but this was one of the smallest and pokest rooms I have ever stayed in. The beds were smaller than any double bed you have at home!! When we complained to the desk about the size of the bed/room we were greeted by a very rude encounter with the front of house manager who was not helpful at all. When asked how they could class the room as a deluxe double room and that the pictures of the rooms on the website looked nothing like them the answer was isn't it amazing what a camera can do! The only good thing about this hotel was the location. The reception staff are minimal so check in can take time. The security staff are the most politest. If you would like a recommendation on where the stay the Edison Hotel, which is only round the corner and an equally good location is by far superior to the Milford Plaza. DO NOT STAY THERE.

Great location shame about the cockroaches
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/09
It can not be denied that the location is great and if you catch them at the right time of day the staff are friendly. However....I'm gald to hear that it's due for a revamp, (long overdue in my opinion). Our room was so small (2410) that one of us had to lie on the bed if the other one wanted to move around the room. The shower didn't work, the bathroom ceiling was falling down, the plug sockets were hanging out of the wall. We had a couple of pet cockroaches and no house keeping for two days. My advice is go after the revamp.

LOVE IT!!
By Brian, 08/29/09
Being this was my first time in NYC, we stayed there and it was very nice. Last year they began remodeling so I don't know if they finished or not but at any rate it is money well spent, the location especially is just perfect.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/09
I have used this hotel on many occasions and although the hotel could do with a make over I have not experienced any problems, all staff were helpful

Hotel could use a make over!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
Location was great. The staff was great except one desk clerk that told us the malfunctioning room key was our stupidity. Had it reprogrammed later and worked fine. The bathrooms definitely need attention!!! There is mold in the grout lines of the tile and smells like it. Also, someone else's stray hair in the bath. I like the security and the elevators. Can't say I'd stay there again. Haven't had problems like this at other comp priced hotels in the city.

Bed Bugs! Avoid Milford Plaza Hotel!
By Mary, 06/17/09
What was supposed to be a romatic weekend turned into a disaster when after the 1st night we found a huge infestation of bed bugs - Room 1550 - Room should have been closed to the public. Staff was not helpful when complaint was made. Left immediately after discovery and cut weekend short. I would never stay at this hotel again and would strongly advise that no one else stay here.

would go back anytime
By Susan, 06/11/09
Yes the hotel was outdated but the service was great and if you needed anything they were right on top of things. I and my daughter transfered from a different hotel that had treated us like we had the plague and when we arrived at the milford we were greeted with a smile and our room was always clean.

I really loved this hotel....
By Marla, 04/06/09
03/24/2009- 03/31/2008 We paid $139.00 per night pluse fees and taxes... small room, but we were not in the room except to sleep. The place was secure with the way we had to show our room key before we entered the elevators. This review blog scared me and I packed bug spray, lysol to clean the bath, air freshner, mind you this room was old..... but it was clean. There were no bed bugs at all. Our room was 1705. Now on to the great things... It is ONE BLOCK from time square. Right in the middle of EVERYTHING!!!! Broadway plays. This is a great place to stay for the price! Ask for Bryan at the elevator desk!!! He was great too!

The worst hotel
By A Yahoo! User, 03/29/09
This hotel looks nice enough when you arrive, but you are soon in for a huge disappointment. The doormen are very nice. The security people who guard the elevators are the biggest power tripping idiots in the world. Upon arrival, the group of people I was with walked to the elevators in a very noisy and crowded lobby, in which we did not hear the security guy speaking, so in his utmost non professional way stated that he guessed we didn't need to get to our rooms today and we deserved it if we didn't listen to him. He then proceeded to talk to us as if we were 5 year olds about how to work the elevators. We were finally able to go to our rooms after each and everyone of us showed him our room key. The rooms.....are disgusting. Small, stinky, bedding older than my mother. The room is so small the bathroom door is on a spring so that it pulls itself closed as to not block the doorway. The bathroom was nasty. Picture dirty rest area bathroom on the highway. For $200+ a night I expect a clean NICE room, respectful and HELPFUL staff, this hotel has none of the above. Oh and do not go out after 2am for coffee. Apparently the prostitution/pimp business is booming across the street.....

The Worst Crappy hotel i have ever stayed in....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/09
well the first night i got to the hotel it wasnt that bad until the next morning i got up to take a shower and there was a COCKROACH bathroom and then i had BED BUG BITS all over my legs...... this hotel is located in a good part of town but it doesnt really matter beacuse it is just so horriable. Well then the next day my mom, brother, and grandparents arrived and it took them forever to even get help to get in there room and the people at the counter were the rudest people i have ever met. well the next night they to founnd tree COCKROACHES in there bath tube so they gave both of us an upgrade kind of but not really. they put me and my aunt in a one bed room but they put the others in the milf club watch was cool i gess. but the rooms are as small as an bathroom in an appartment........... well i recamend verey strongly that know one should ever stay at this crappy hotle it will be the worst stay of your life i would have rather stayed on the streets and or in the sudway or harlem.......
