Dudley Hotel Salamanca, Salamanca

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! the rooms were dirty, food on the floor,hair on the pillows and sheets which tell me they were not changed. they tried to clean something up in the room because it smelled of bleach and there were spots all over the carpet from the bleach. there was blood on the mattress and that did it for me. we got our money back and ran out of there. we must of had a room that they didn't touch yet. learned my lesson!!!! stay away!! i give it a minus 5

What a wonderful place. My mother and I and a couple friends stayed at the Historical Dudley. I give it 4 stars! Rooms were clean, bathroom clean; got adjoining rooms, one was a suite. They were so helpful in what we wanted. Staff very friendly. There is not one thing that I disliked about this place. I would recommend this place to anyone.

OK, I get that this isn't the Sheridan, but it's a privately owned facility that is being renovated as time and money allows. The first floor is lovely - beautiful floors, wood and glass, the public rest room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The in-house restarurant provided excellent food for a very reasonable price and the waitress - especially the dinner gal was terrific. There was also a pub/lounge with a bar, pool table and weekend entertainment. Upstairs, everything smelled fresh - no hint of mustiness. The linens were fresh, clean and plentiful, the bed was comfortable with extra pillows available, the clock and tv workded. Two of us stayed in one room and the bill was only $70. For that price, what do I care that that the bathroom still has harvest gold fixtures or that the decor is a dated from the 70's? The owners are working on this and I plan to return so I can watch them polish this gem to the beauty it can be. S*

How could ANYONE say they like this hotel??? It is dirty, and dingy!! Besides the fact that the 3 rooms we had looked like something my grandma woulda had decorated in the 20s, it reeks of mold and mildew! Just a word of advice....stay at the Westgate!!! Just as cheap and almost brand new!!! Are ya kidding me????? I dont understand how that place is still in business. I wouldnt doubt if there were termintes and roaches crawling around that place!!!

My stay at the Dudley Hotel was great. The price was right. My room and other accomdations were clean and service and staff was great. The Lobby is very welcoming and a nice place to sit and relax, the the perk of free coffee 24/7. The new owner is working very hard to get the hotel running smoothly and also with some remodeling. The restaurant/ bar and food quailty was excellent. It is in a good location in Salamanca with free transportation to nearby casino. I stayed for 5 days and they accomadating to my needs. I will be returning and would recommend it to anyone.

This place was just awful. The fact that there are 5 star ratings for this place reeks of Dudley ownership giving reviews. Either that or they are given by people who have never left Salamanca or gotten rooms at the Holiday Inn or Seneca Allegheny. We get there and walk into a semi decent lobby. There looked like what may have been a continental breakfast buffet. We were given an actual key for our room (an indication of what was to come). We took an extremely small elevator up to the top floor that sounded like metal grinding on metal. The elevator door opens and we're met with metallic green shag carpeting that almost blinded us. The wall paper looked like the style my grandmother had in her home that was circa 1950-1960. We open the door to our room which possibly didnt see housekeeping in a couple weeks or longer. A telelvison that got a couple fuzzy network channels. No remote, you actually had to turn the twisty channel changer thing. We slept on our clothes because we didnt trust the sheets. It was almost 90 degrees that day and there was no air conditioning which is always nice. To top off the whole experience we were woken up the next morning before 7am by trains cruising through the lumber yard that is right next door. Words cant explain how bad it was. And the lounge downstairs, we decided not to visit because the hoots and hollers you heard walking by sounded like a rowdy kind of place where locals may not be taken to kindly too. Id give it a minus 1 if possible.

The Dudley offers a convenient location in the downtown area of Salamanca, close to shopping and the local Casino. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant food superb - try their Friday or Saturday fish fry - you won't be able to eat it all! Compared to other hotels in the area, room prices are VERY reasonable. The hotel has quite a bit of history, dating to the 1800's - pictures of the hotel taken in the early 1900's grace a wall in the lobby of the hotel. A very good value for the money.

What I loved about the Dudley was the greeting I recieved at the Recepetion Desk. They were really nice and decorated it really nice for christmas. While I stayed there I got to eat in their restaurant. They had told me about the new chef being great and he was right. The lounge also had some decent prices and was decorated real nice for the holidays. All in all, I wont stay in another hotel. Plus you couldnt beat the rate, they were the cheapest hotel in the area!

I love the warm, friendly, courteous atmosphere that I walked into. I also like the fact of the great food in their resturant and the lounge just being right across the way. All in all, The Dudley is a permanent addition to my Salmanca Expierence.

YOU CAN ALMOST ALWAYS GET A RESERVATION, THE DUDLEY HAS A COMFORTABLE, "HOMELIKE" ATMOSPHERE. THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE LOUNGE IS NICE TOO.
