EXCELLENT LOCATION
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/07
WE STAYED IN THIS HOTEL RECENTLY UNFORTUNATELY ONLY FOR 3 NIGHTS. BUT WE HOPE TO COME BACK FOR LONGER NEXT TIME.THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT FOR MANY ATTRACTIONS.WE WALKED TO CENTRAL PARK AND FERRY TERMINAL VERY EASILY.TIMES SQUARE AND BROADWAY CLOSE BY.DINNER IN HOTEL WAS VERY GOOD ALSO LOUNGE BAR BUT THEY DO SEEM TO HAVE AN AVERSION TO LIGHTS IN THE PLACE!!! ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND SPACIOUS. ALL IN ALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR PRICE AND LOCATION. EXCELLENT!!!{WE HAD VIEW OF EMPIRE STATE BUILDING FROM OUR BEDROOM WINDOW}

had no problems
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/07
this hotel did exactly what it said on the packet. I went with my 70 year old mother and seven year old son. the room was big enough to accomodate all three of us and a problem with the heating controls was resolved by a quick call to reception . the pool is not the biggest in the world but i did not go to new york for a pool. The view from the front of the hotel is beyond belief if you have never seen the new york skykine before . Location very convenient as only five minutes walk from times square .For the price would certainlly recomend this hotel. use the money you save in the shops !

We liked it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/18/07
Room and linens were clean, but not spanking new. Almost all the staff were nice (one front desk person was curt). Pool was warm (90 degrees) - great for kids, but open only in evening. 5 minute walk from subway. Can walk to theater district. Be alert when walking around late at night, as in all of NYC.

STAY HERE ARE YOUR OWN RISK
By sweaterhead, 11/15/06
THE SERVICE, WHEN THERE WAS HELP, WAS EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE! (NO ONE ELSE IN NEW YORK EVEN CAME CLOSE) THE ROOMS LOOKED DIRTY AND VERY WORN - THE HEATER WAS BROKEN AND SEVERAL REQUESTS FOR EXTRA BLANKETS WERE IGNORED. NO RADIO/ALARM CLOCK/ COFFEE MACHINE. RESTAURANT IN LOBBY - THE WORST! RUDE CONCIERGE ARRANGED VAN BACK TO AIRPORT. AFTER TELL HER FLIGHT TIMES, SHE ASSURED THREE OF US (SEPARATELY) THAT THE VAN WOULD BE THERE IN MORE THAN AMPLE TIME FOR OUR FLIGHTS. AFTER THREE HOURS IN THE VAN WAITING FOR OTHER PICKUPS (AND NO, THERE WAS NO OPPORTUNITY TO BAIL) I WOULD HAVE MISSED MY FLIGHT IF THE AM AIRLINES SUPERVISOR DID NOT HELP ME. THE OTHERS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SO LUCKY WITH THEIR FLIGHTS. THE PLACE IS FULL OF TOUR GROUPS - SCREAMING TEENS, ETC. SO MANAGEMENT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL (BUSINESS) TRAVELER.

GREAT hotel!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/06
I booked this hotel for a 3 night stay over the weekend of the september 11th anniversary. Due to the odd negative rewiew I was understandly a little nervous upon arrival. I'm so glad I didn't let them influence me! The reception staff were more than friendly which suprised me considering what I read. even the maids and cleaners will noticebly polite and friendly. I'm from the UK and this was my first trip to the United States and the Skyline couldn't have made it any easier. I was travelling with a friend and we had a standard suite with two (very comfy) double beds. We had great air con and more importantly a very decent bath and shower. There's a couple of great Deli's opposite and a subway take out literally one minute down the road so for quick snacks and even meals, this was great. The first night there we decided to just walk and see where we found ourselves. That's how safe we felt in the area! Suprisingly, after about ten minutes we found ourselves in Times Square. This made my day as I was expecting it to be a lot further away! I can actually say that we loved the location. We didn't use the subway or even a taxi once over the whole stay. This might have been different if we were there for longer but over three days we just walked back and from the hotel with ease. To give you an idea, amongst the places we walked to from the hotel were Central Park, the Rockefeller centre, Times Square, Macey's and the Empire state Building. There's not much more to say as we had no problems what so ever! Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the heated swimming pool but it's still worth mentioning. The staff couldn't have made it any easier on our departure day. They looked after our bags for a doller and booked a shuttle bus to take us to JFK; leaving us to enjoy our last few hours without worry. There was also a great little gift shop in the hotel that's superb for last minute prezzies! The owner is a lovely woman. If I return to Manhatten (which I think I probably will!) I'll return to the Skyline hotel for definate.

We liked the Skyline, NYC
By Donna, 7/25/06
We liked staying at the Skyline despite many reviews that were very 50/50. It really seems to depend if you get a room in the newly built wing, so I'd recommend only staying there if you get one, because the difference seems dramatic. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The location was awesome, only 10 blocks to broadway, walking distance to everything!

Decent Accomadations
By Nena, 7/11/06
The Skyline is a very basic hotel. We had a two double beds and slept comfortably. It is very clean and the location is close to time square and Broadway. Has a decent view and very helpful conceirge. Would recommend, since you really only sleep there.
