An angel sent me there for lunch?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/10
I am from Oklahoma City and just ate lunch at the resturant, my husband and I are visiting here for our 38 wedding anniversry, and decided to try your place out, I must say the food was very outstanding, just out of this world. It was only after we ate and was gone from there and well down the road back to your hotel in Taos that I was reading the cook book and family history, that I found and was in total shock, that it may be possiable that we are kin, I was born into the Jaramillo family but was adopted and now searching my roots, which started there in Chimayo. But for real, I can not say enough good things about the kind people you have working for you and the place is wonderful. Thanks for a good lunch. Diane Jaramillo Teaney

Too sad - two bad experiences
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/09
The restaurant looks pretty again after the fire, but the service, food, bathrooms all were much reduced from before. Even though I had made a reservation, we still waited and the restaurant refused to reserve a table in the room I requested. We entered through the kitchen and when we left, our view included overflowing dumpsters in the parking lot. We took guests both times we went and were embarrassed both times. This used to be our favorite restaurant....

Wonderful location and ambience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/14/07
Comfortable beds, great view and location, and the restaurant was terrific - even during a July rainshower! The staff was friendly and efficient. We intend to return soon.

Our favorite place in NM!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/07
We have eaten many times at the restaurant, it serves the best New Mexican food anywhere! Their Carne Adovada is the best! Last time we stayed at the Hacienda, we had a beautiful room with a balcony, plenty of room and gorgeous furniture. We just stayed in the room the whole time, it was so beautiful! We heard an elk calling outside, then walked over to the restaurant for more delicious food, The breakfast was fresh and delicious.

We shall be back, again, again, again, again..................
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/24/06
I should like to sound the Clarion for Rancho de Chimayo. What's not to like ! The Inn and Staff are of Sterling caliber and It's located in a Blue Ribbon corner of the World. Who could ask for anything more. Tom Rainier

expensive and so-so food
We stopped here for lunch only. Way over priced for very average food and poor service. You've had better Mexican food at a chain restaurant.

Perfect New Mexico
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/05
There is no other spot in the state quite like Rancho de Chimayo. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the location restful and beautiful. Our favorite time is at Christmas when the many lights reflect on the snow and you can enjoy a meal fireside after spending the day on the slopes or snow shoeing in the mountains.

Hacienda Rancho de Chimayo
By Doug, 7/17/04
Adobe walls, wooden floors, vigas (log beams) and an horno (adobe fireplace) in the corner; this is hacienda living. Eight rooms in a hollow square surround the courtyard with its fountain and shade trees where breakfast is served al fresco. If you know the back roads, the hacienda is an easy 20 minutes from the Plaza at Santa Fe. Across the street is the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant also founded by the Jaramillo family serving what is arguably the best New Mexico cuisine anywhere. Pricing for the hacienda and restaurant are ridiculously low. Chimayo is the southern terminous of the High Road to Taos. Chimayo has its own plaza which rivals Santa Fe's in size and age. It is partially ruinous, but worth the trip if you can find it. Chimayo is also home to the Santuario de Chimayo, known as the Lourdes of North America. The Hacienda de Chimayo experience is immersion in Spanish Colonial culture. This is off-the-beaten path New Mexico at its best.
