Stay Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/08
My family and I recently stayed at the Ramada located in Roswell, NM for a family reunion. The entire group planned this stay at least 6 months in advance. Upon arriving at the hotel, one of my rooms was filthy. The carpet was sticky and turned your feet black. It took the manager 18 hours to clean the carpet vice moving us. Additionally, the manager would not allow the family (From the reunion that he was aware of 6 months in advance) to sit and talk, laugh, and joke on the picnic tables in the courtyard of the hotel. The management does not approve of any guest drinking any form of alcohol at the establishement. The following morning at 9 am, the staff told me I had to quiet my kids because they were playing in the courtyard. We stayed at this location for 2 nights and the community trash cans were never cleaned out. There was broken glass from one of the rooms that remained on the catwalk for our entire stay even after we addressed it to the manager. Finally, the web-site states that government discounts are available and at the time of check-in, I asked for the military discount and was told that the hotel was not giving them at that time due to room requirements for the weekend; however, the hotel was not sold out the 2 nights that my family stayed there. I have stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the worse hotel experience I have ever had.
Completely unprofessional staff. I would recommend that if you have a choice, stay somewhere else. It would be better to sleep in the back seat of your car than to stay at this hotel. The owner makes you feel like an inmate with curfews and rules you have no idea about until he wants to remember about his days as a guard at San Quinton. Again, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
