Pier 4 on the Bay, Somers Point

Where do I start? What do you get for $189 a night at this wannabe exclusive hotel? Not much! You get a 1 star hotel at 4 star prices! If you like ants, mold, mildew and nothing but humidity from an antique joke of an a/c system...this place is for you! If you want to be totally grossed out...check out the mold in the shower vent or under the bathroom soap (they hide it with a paper coaster!) If the excessive heat in the unairconditioned hallways and elevators doesn't kill you first! If you want to sleep in past 7AM or want peace and quiet... don't stay here until after 2014... the crane and vibrating pile driver at the nearby bridge renovation project runs constantly and the bridge has a completion date of 2014! It's even louder at the pool. You have to wait 4 hours each morning for some guy to clean the pool (and he doesn't do a very good job at that!) Rooms overlooking the swimming pool offer nothing but the nerve crawling echos of unruly children. If the cranky kids don't get on your last nerve, perhaps the amateur crooners at the poolside Crabby Jacks bar will! The complimentary breakfast bagels and danish could easily be used for hockey pucks. Be careful entering the bathroom...the tile strip is raised to stub your toes and trip you...but at least they put red caution tape on it to forewarn you. For the rates they have the audacity to charge here, they need to renovate the place and add central air conditioning for the comfort of their guests. I have never written a hotel review before but after getting ripped off I felt I must warn anyone before booking here. Hey...but the view is nice...but then you can drive by Pier 4 on a noisey jet ski like other people do and see the view and stay at a much better place. The best thing that could happen to this place is to see a wrecking ball demolish it.

It was a good family oriented place location and views that are not matched in the area, we especially apprieciated the pool deck staffed by a lifegaurd so we could relax not many pools in the area are gaurded. The Crabby Jack's grill is on the hotel property and the bar is next door on the Crab trap side of the property. I spoke to the manager and he said as soon as the Ocean City bridge project is done they will be rennovating the hotel. Overall a good place, the room sizes are old fashioned and small but the deck and views make up for it all.

Me, my husband and two small children stayed at the Pier 4 hotel on 4th of July weekend because we wanted to be close to the beach and wanted to stay at a nice place. We thought that is what we were getting unfortunately, I will suggest for anyone that wants good customer service and a clean room to not stay here! We were forced to check out at 2:30am because of a BED BUG INFESTATION. Then the manager refused to refund our money and accused us of "seeing things" and using the room for showering only... I have never been so offended and disgusted....WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Nice quaint hotel. Clean and staff was friendly. NIce breakfast buffet. Will return for work or a quiet weekend

I stayed for two nights on Nov 2, 2006 and not so satisfied with the phone system. We need to pay 10 dollars just to activate the phone!! Never experienced this before in any other hotel... And the lady who greet us??? She needs to learn how to smile to the guest... Especially if the guests just had 10 hours on the road!!

Love everything about it...From the minute you walk in & being greeted by Dawn (& the rest of the staff), to the minute you leave. The Bay , The Pool, The Breeze, The Deck, Crabby Jack's, Crab Trap and ALL THE STAFF make you definetely feel like you are on VACAY!! Even in the cool / colder months, a GREAT PLACE to stay and "just get away".

It was a great place, nice room, good breakfast, very clean room, pool, bar and music at night was a very relaxing, enjoyable time and I need to come back.
