Bed Needed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/09
Murphy Bed and Pull out were both horrible! No other bed provided. Will not go back. Could not have stayed a third night.

Look no further!!!
By Maggie10, 06/21/08
We stayed in a 2 bedroom 1 bath suite and what a surprise when we opend our door!! It was beautfully decorated and SPOTLESS! There were 3 adults and 3 kids and we had plenty of room. Your only one block from the beach and a "short" drive to downtown Stone Harbor or Avalon! There`s no need to look any further...You will love everything about "The Beachcomber." We will be returning!

Grat Place Great Location
By Linda, 08/09/07
We had a fantastic visit. The pool was very nice with fabulous Landscaping. Our Kids loved the beaches that was just one Block away. The staff was always there to help. We had a great time and look forward to getting back there soon. Our son finally learned to swim as we had plenty of time at the pool.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/07
Overall we loved it. The pool and the lifeguard were wonderful. He made the stay fun for our kids. I really don't like the ocean but my kids love it, so it's nice to know they can go there with one parent and I can stay at the pool all day! The room was excellent. My only regret was telling our family about this place, and now we can't get the room we want because they all took them first! The only drawback is that I felt the price for the two bedroom suite was a little high.

Looking forward to our return to the Beachcomber
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/07
What a great place! This will be our 5th visit to the Beachcomber. Units, rooms are tastefully decorated, not at all like a hotel/motel. Only steps to the beach, playground and some great restaurants. In the center there is a beatuiful secluded pool which is heated. Staff is friendly and helpful. A great vacation!

What a gem!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/05
Just returned from our annual visit to the Beachcomber in Avalon, NJ. We love the place!!! We have returned year after year because we are always treated like family, the rooms are spacious and clean and you are steps to the beach. It doesn't get any better than this!!!

Beachcomber just OK
By VM, 08/02/05
LIKES: pleasant front desk personnel ... nice pool area ... Cleanliness DISLIKES: Sofa bed ... circuit breakers ... shower water temp ... musty odor... Service: Front desk personnel were very pleasant and courteous. Room service did a nice job of cleaning up our mess and providing clean linens and towels. Room: Our room was an efficiency unit that had some negative points. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The other stow-away bed (known as a Murphy bed) was much more comfortable to sleep on. For some reason the circuit breakers to the room were right next to the entrance to the bathroom, where our two year old was able to flip the breakers for entertainment (not good). Not only were the circuit breakers in a bad location, but there was no access door on the circuit breakers either (really not good). There was a slight musty smell to our room. The water temperature in the shower changed on its own (mixing valve was shot). Location: Our room was on the first floor and we were able to park directly in front of the room, which was nice for unloading/loading suitcases, beach stuff, etc. The motel itself is one block away from the beach which also is a plus. I'd give the Beachcomber just an average overall rating. We enjoy vacationing in the Avalon/Stone Harbor area but we'll look to find a different lodging option next summer.

I'll be baaaack!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/05
I have stayed at this resort faithfully for the past 4 years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and my kids LOVE the heated pool. The whole pool area is beautifully landscaped and private. My family will be coming back to Beachcomber next year.

Great spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/05
The Beachcomber is really a collection of individually owned condos with central on site management (like a motel). As such, the rooms are all decorated differently (no 'hotel standard' if you will). We have stayed in quite a few different condos over the years and have been pleased with them. In recent years it is evident many owners continue to add/upgrade their condos with furniture, decor and even new kitchens, so it is often 'better' the next time we visit. Avalon is a great Jersey shore place with the right blend of casual and trendy. We recommend it highly and often visit multiple times a year...both 'in' and especially 'off-season'.

Booked our vacation for 2005
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/05
We have had wonderful vacations at the Beachcomber. I just called to book our rooms for this summer. We have had wonderful experiences with every aspect at the Beachcomber. Freindly staff, beautiful rooms and clean. The pool is probably one of the nicest we have seen, especially at a shore resort with the beach only steps away. We'd recommend it in a heart beat.
