Beautiful and Restful Place to Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/09
The Homestead at Sugar Hill, NH is a lovely old inn still owned by the original family. They are very helpful, accomodating and full of interesting historical data about the area. The rooms are clean and furnished with beautiful antiques. Each has its own character. We have stayed in many of them and they are all unique. The best place to sit, sip tea or cocktails and enjoy the gorgeous view of Franconia Notch and the Presidential range. The breakfasts are always delicious and the room rates are affordable. We go to relax, enjoy down home comfort and get away from the rat race! Highly recommended.

stay home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/09
My family has stayed at the inn off and on for over forty years. My last stay was approximately 20 years ago and boy how things have changed. Driving up to the inn is the best part for the scenery is quite beautiful. The rest is dreadful. The inn is in very poor condition both inside and out. I also found it to be unclean. My wife and I drove up from Massachusetts this valentines day to spend the night. I was expecting it to be the same as I last remembered. What a mistake. We were the only ones staying at the inn that night. Now I know why. The room was okay so we dropped our bags off and headed out to get a bite to eat. When we returned around 6:00 pm we had no heat. That was the last straw. I could tell you more stories about the inn but I'm strapped for time. My wife and I packed our bags and drove 3 hours to our home I wrote a letter to the owner a few days after but never received a response. Cross this inn off your list.

A Wonderful Place to Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/07
What a wonderful place to stay. Not only are the members of the family owned business and the staff friendly, they are flexible and make you feel right at home. My family and I stayed at the Homestead many times over the years. And, we are looking forward to our next stay. Sunday mornings are the best. The quaint continental breakfast is a feast fit for royality. And, with the antique setting, your visit sets you back an era in time. It leaves you with the desire to stay in the many rooms that they have to offer. There is a wonderful uniqueness to each room and stories of history to ad pizazze to it all. I am sure that you will enjoy a stay here. We give it 5 stars!

Wonderful place to escape
By Jane, 08/12/05
If you need to escape, get a taste of the 'Old New England' lifestyle, and enjoy a magnificant view -- you won't be disappointed with the homestead. The room was thoroughly charming with its antique furnishings and authentic architecture. With no phone or TV in the room, my stay was peaceful and remained uninterrupted. I enjoyed the sunsets with a glass of cabernet on the porch, viewing the presidential mountain range in the distance. Cést tres magnifique! You'll find the staff, responsive, friendly and charming. The owner, Mr. Hayward, is very knowledgeable about the history of the area, as well as activities in the area. I highly recommend The Homestead.
