No Sleep
By Rebecca, 8/20/11
The beds are ridiculously hard, the pillows are huge and retain their shape so well that there shape so well they will not mold to your head or body. I stayed here with my boyfriend and two kids. The 4 year old (who sleeps in the most inconceivable positions in the car) was the only one who had a decent nights rest. I was up all night trying to stay as still as possible as to not disturb what little sleep everyone else was getting and by 5:00 AM I couldn't handle it anymore. I went to the reservation counters to see if they had any different pillows or anything that might help me get a couple hours sleep before I had to hit the road and they did not. Furthermore, the service desk acted like my story was the same 'ol same 'ol. Weekend rates made this hotel $75.00. It would not have been worth it if I got the weekday rates which are half that. I read lots of reviews before I booked and there were warnings of the too hard beds, but I LIKE hard mattresses, so I wasn't concerned. Be concerned. Be very concerned. Who cares how bad or good other features are when you and your whole family can't sleep?! Terrible Terrible Terrible

We always stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/09
We always stay here when we visit Sparks. We stay in the rooms that are reserved for pets so we can take our dog. Right next to the hotel is a small lake you can walk around and a dog park for your dog. The casino is friendly and fun. A lot of the customers are employees of other casinos and are friends with the dealers. This is our favorite place to gamble.

HARDLY WAIT TO GET BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/08
WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO WESTERN VILLAGE FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS AND WE LOVE THE CONVIENCE OF HAVING EVERYTHING WE NEED RIGHT THERE. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING AND THE SERVICE IS GREAT. WE WISH THEY WOULD OPEN THE POOL BACK UP, BUT OTHER THAN THAT FOR A SMALL CASINO WHERE YOU CANNOT LOSE TRACK OF YOUR FRIENDS AND THE NICE MOTEL RIGHT THERE AND THE SECURITY WE HAVE----WELL YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT. STAY IN THE FRONT UNIT. IT IS CLOSER TO THE CASINO.........GREAT PLACE

An Excellent Value!
By Rockie, 11/5/07
We stayed at Western Village Inn in October 2007. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious, beds were very comfortable, and we had a lovely marina view. The coupons gave us great deals on breakfast at the Marina restaurant, on drinks, and in the gift shop. The Steakhouse had excellent food and the service at both restaurants was top-notch. This is not a luxury hotel but it is an outstanding value and the price was right for us with no worries. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others. (We would have liked a small fridge and microwave, but made do with ice buckets instead. On the other hand, they do have a laundromat which is nice.) p.s. Apparently there has not been water in the pool for two years but the adjacent marina is perfect for a morning or evening stroll and has a swimming beach. Give the Western Village Inn a try!

Western Mexico Village
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
For years we have been local visitors. We were having a large family gathering and needed some rooms. We called Western Village reservation desk for reservations. The lady taking our reservation could not speak english very well and when we asked her numerous times to please repeat what she was saying, she started yelling and telling the supervisor that I had a problem. The supervisor couldn't speak english very well either. It was a horrible experience. We made reservations at Super 8 and were treated like real people. The people at Western Village reservations are horrible at annunciating the english language and get upset if you ask them to repeat. I think they don't like americans. We'll never go there again!

Great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/07
The place is a little run down but my room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful at the desk and in the restaurants. The Vineyard Restaurant had good food at great prices. I played the slots but didn't win anything. All in all, a good place, frequented by local folks also.

Nice Sports Book
By The Gold Man, 8/13/07
I had a great time at the Sportsbook. They have a tall ticket writer named Karl who is very friendly, and knows his sports! He showed me how to make a "parlay" bet with 5 teams. I don't know anything about betting football but it didn't matter, he picked 5 teams for me and they ALL WON! I bet $50 and got back $1150. I'll never forget Karl and my visit to the Western Village. The rooms were cheap $28 a night, and the food was good. I will be back.

prime ribs and steaks are out of this world
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/07
My wife and I love the Steakhouse. This restaurant is equal to Cache Creek Steak house at the Bonanza Casino in Reno. Service and staff are extremely professional and the tenderness and taste of both meats are one of the finest we have ever had. This is the 2nd best kept secret in the Reno/Sparks area.
