Intourist-Stavropol, Mesquite

Rooms are clean, people friendly, food good, casino nice. My husband and I try to visit 5 or 6 times a year. We are considering buying property in Mesquite.

This hotel has been steadily going downhill while the price goes up. The room was simply awful. The handle was falling off the toilet which would not quit running and had rust in it. The bathtub was filthy and also ran continually. The sink had mold in it. Upon complaining, the supervisor said they were in the process of remodeling, and hopefully I would get a better room next time. There was no offer of compensation at all. The rate of $40 was a total rip off for a weeknight. The casino is really showing it's age with many machines needing replaced. On the positive side, I found the casino employees to be very nice.

We have stayed here several times in the past - when the air conditioners worked, when the beds were clean, and when security worked. This time we were given a room in their "Manor" across the street. The room smelled horrible. The air conditioner was so loud and produced little cold air (however it did drown out the tv next door, as the walls are so thin, you can hear your neighbors speaking). Our key didn't work the second day upon our return - the housekeeper gladly opened our room - didn't verify who we were or even call anyone to ask if we were registered. We could have gotten in to any room! Don't believe "no dogs allowed" rule - the dog across the hall barked all night. Security was asked to check it out, but the dog never quit. When you see the "Oasis" marquee, just keep on truckin down the road - you won't regret it.

My wife and I spent one night at the Oasis Hotel this past April 23rd...The room had not seen a vacumn cleaner in some time...the bathroom tub was a total mess with gross corrosion products around the tub faucets and water spout...Before we retired for the night, a cockroach was noticed on the wall between the two beds....we extinguished the roach with the back of the note pad by the telephone and the juicy remains of the roach are probably still evident in that room considering how clean the rooms are kept. The charge for this accomodation was $74.00 which was quite exorbitant.

The accommodations were okay ... Upon checking in, we were given a "room next to the swimming pool" because we had 2 children with us ... talk about an over-statement! A view of the roof is somehow should not be considered a pool side room. The parking lot view would have been better than our "pool side room". A "Resort", The Oasis is NOT! As uninviting as our "pool-side room" was, the buffet restaurant was yet another story! It was absolutely the WORST we have ever experienced anywhere. The so-called hot food was not only cold, but must have been sitting out all day. The rolls were like hardtacke! The salads and fruit items were stale and must have sat as long, if not longer than the "so-called hot items". Our arrival was just as they were setting up for the dinner time, but we were not allowed to choose items from the "new food" that was being set out. All in all, I would rate the buffet an F-minus, if there is such a rating. Tip: The Buffet should be avoided at all costs. The Starbucks being the highlight of The Oasis (so-called) Resort. We will NEVER stay at The Oasis (so-called) Resort again!

Great people and fun staff. Pool was nice and the live music was a welcomed break. Food was a good value and fresh. I'll be back to include more golf!!! Rich - PHX, AZ

...in your own room? Try walking on the carpets in this hotel. Other fun surprises: stains on the walls, stains on the floors, threadbare blankets. The pools CLOSE at 5:00 regardless of the fact that it was Spring Break and they were completely booked. What were kids supposed to do? Go play the slots? Ridiculous.

First I need to say that we received a compensated room. Our thanks for staying at the Casa Blanca and gambling thousands of dollars away. Casa Blanca, Oasis and Virgin River are all owned by the Black Brothers. When you sign up for the Reward Card and earn points you earn free nights, food golf, spa and cash. After you earn all this at Casa Blanca, which is the nicest of the three, and call up to cash-in, sometimes you get stuck elsewhere as we did. The front desk at the Oasis is a night-mare. Long lines and rude desk personnel. We were stuck in Bldg. 9, had to walk in the freezing cold to the casinos (there is never any parking), and back. The rooms are dissmal. There are dirty, dusty mirrors on the wall in back of the beds. I had to clean them before I went to sleep. The bathroom had mold and everyone elses hair in it. The beds, oh the beds, gave me a backache and my hips felt bruised. You would want to bring your own pillows so you may as well bring your own mattress. I think this is why they give you $40 in spa comps, because you are going to need it. The personnel at the spa are rude. I gave the girl a $20 tip and she didn't even say thank you. I felt like I was in their way the whole time. I couldn't wait to come home. The buffet is in a dark, icky room up the escalator. I don't know what I ate exactly. Eat at the restaurant or go to another casino, or downtown. We have also stayed in the out-buildings across the street. If I had to choose, I'd stay there. The rooms seem better without the gawdy mirrors and are actually larger. They are a lot like military quarters. Anyway, I'm not likely to back unless I can get comp-ed at the Casa Blanca (where I actually spent my money).

After reading the reviews I Called to make sure we had close parking and that was a joke. We had to hike forever to get to our room from the parking garage. The room was ok but, needed painting. The overall appearance of the building, it needs paint and repairs in the worst way. First impression is very bad. If you are not interested in gambling the new Falcon Ridge is much much nicer. The cost may be a little bit more but they do have a great continental breakfast so that makes up for some of the extra cost. We'll go back to the Falcon Ridge next time.

Had a great time, you get what you pay for. If you want 5 star hotel than go some place else. You want a clean room with down to earth prices then,this is the place to go. Family of 5 no problems, 3pools, go carts if you want a quick getaway this was well worth it.
