sorry, but I had a really bad experience
The checkin clerk was courteous but not friendly. Right after I checked in, he refused to accommodate the well-attired person behind me because he was a local. When I politely asked the clerk why the motel had that policy, he became aggrevated and talked about drug dealing and prostitution and that there hadn't been a single shoot-out since the motel adopted that policy. Um, yeah. I gave three stars for 'location' because of its proximity to the freeway, but my check-in experience didn't exactly make me feel secure about the neighbourhood.
I gave one star for cleanliness because of the cockroaches. One cockroach is just one of those things that could happen at any hotel; three means there's a problem. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable, the door was difficult to open and the television looked like it had been found on the side of a road in 1983.
To be fair, this motel was probably a bit cheaper than any of the gaudy big hotels nearby, but you get what you pay for. Maybe the free coffee made up for it for the other reviewers, but I don't drink coffee. Sorry.
