worst experience since I slept on the beach

This was suppose to be a great weekend my mother,sister, and niece had never been to Lake Tahoe. My plan was to show them a great time. When we arrived we were excited, until we got to our room one of us had to use the restroom to our surprise the water started to over flow the plumbing was plugged we called the main desk they did send someone up. They said it was fixed it wasn't they had to come back a second time. At this time We asked for another room which they did. Needless to say it didn't ruin our time but it was an inconvenience. We will be back to Tahoe we may not be back here.

Love the beach!

Our family loved the beach. We would spend ours there. We also loved the breakfast! What a feast. We loved how you made your own waffles. We also love going to the restaurant in the evening. They had great food!

second thought

The hotel was nice , the reason we stayed in this hotel was because it was by the beach, but I was disappointed that during our stay the water was dirty and there was mushy feeling on the sand, it was disgusting, I had to get out of the water right away , I felt like I was walking on tons mashed banana. The kids end up just playing on the sand and not swim. They need to clean or do something about it.It was not worth paying that amount for the hotel just because it was by the beach.

Fair value for the price !

It was a very pleasant stay. My wife and I enjoyed waking up to the view of the sun over the lake. We have a little Jack Russell who also enjoyed the "dog area" of the beach. It was nice to be able to sit on our balcony and just take in the views of lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was a nice surprise for us as well. We ate waffles and drank juice and coffee on the patio in full view of the lake. Our room was very clean and had been well maintained. A little larger room would have been nice and I suppose they had larger rooms for a higher price. Though, I don't know that for sure. What I do know is that we feel we got what we paid for. $94 a night for a clean, comfortable direct beach access room in South Lake Tahoe is a pretty fair deal. We will be back !

All around great place.

We stayed in room 238. It appeared to be newly renovated. The room was very clean and had a wonderful view of the beach, lake and pier from the deck. The bed was very comfortable as it gave me no problems with my bad back. The beach was fantastic, the water warm and shallow. A wide variety of water toys could be rented at the pier. Highly recommended!! We'll be back!!!! The pizza (on site) was pretty good too!

Great value; great vacation

The location of this hotel is perfect - on the beach and to the side of the bustle of the town. We could walk from our room to the beach, to the best restaurant, to the swimming pool, and to shops. The staff was very professional and friendly, the room well serviced, and the value great. Be sure and go to the Blue Water Bistro right on the Boardwalk Pier at Timber Cove Marina. The food and service were superb. Highly recommend trying the Ginger Tofu appetizer and lentil loaf.

You'll Regret It

The rooms are very small and only one person can fit in the bathroom area. If you think for one second your bed is going to be comfortable here you had better sleep in your car.The private beach they claim is there's has dog crap all over it . Make sure to watch your small children and yourself every step. The staff is very blahh not friendly at all. There breakfast the apples and oranges were rotten.Don't waste your $$$$$$. You'll be Sorry. Don't do it..

Pros and cons...

Nice view from the little balcony but the building we stayed in had no elevator so we had to go up and down three flights of stairs every day - good exercise though! Easy access to beach so we liked that. Room was clean enough and the beds were OK but they need to provide a real comforter and the blankets were very thin. Front desk staff was friendly enough. Concierges helped with info about various things, but they also tried to sell us timeshares at other locations every single time we were in the lobby. We had to tell them about five times that we're not interested in buying a timeshare or even looking at one. There was no refrigerator in the room, and there really should be one. The continental breakfast included was not very good - the last day we skipped that entirely and went across the street to Safeway to buy coffee and food from the store and Starbucks. There was some noise at times from people in other rooms and from people on the beach, but it wasn't too obnoxious. Looks like other reviewers had problems getting billed twice - hope that doesn't happen to us. I hate when that happens and it takes forever to get it straightened out with your credit card company. Overall a nice place to stay for a few days but not sure I would stay there again - it seemed a but over-priced for a Best Western and the amenities were not that great.

There could have not been a more incompetant staff working when I was there. They were extremey rude and acted like it was a burden to have to help customers. There were several of us there for a wedding, and they lacked serious customer service skills toward all of us. Unless they change their staff to people that realize that it is their JOB to help people, I would absolutely not recommend staying there.
