What a waist of money!

From the very beginning this hotel did not make a good impression. We pulled into the parking garage and discovered we couldn't get in without a room key. In the middle of downtown there aren't many places to park or easy ways to back up out of a parking garage. We ended up parking in a loading zone so my husband could run in quick and get a room key. We took a very shaky elevator to the 14th floor where our room was. I've been on lots of elevators but none as shaky as this one. Because we didn't want to carry our suit case up 14 flights of stairs we risked it and it held but it made us both very nervous. The room itself was average and clean. King bed, fridge, microwave, and cable tv. No ppv though. They also don't have a continental breakfast and the breakfast that is offered is very expensive. The remote to the tv had about a 15 sec. delay before the tv would respond making it very difficult to land on the channel that you want. The a/c was extremely loud. The room started getting hot in the evening so my husband turned it on but then we couldn't hear the tv without have the volume way up. When we left they had slid a rapid checkout form under our door. The form said to check it over to make sure it was a correct charge and then to sign it and either take it and the room keys to the front desk or leave them in the room. We left them in the room and when we went to exit the parking garage it wouldn't let us out without our room key. We had to push a button to call customer service so they could let us out. They didn't even say anything, they just lifted the gate. Then, when I got home I checked our checking account and they had overcharged us by $32. My husband called and they said it's an extra charge in case of accidentals that they charge everyone and it should come off in 5-10 days. Nowhere on our check-out sheet did it say anything about this! Very misleading hotel. My husband and I stayed there for our anniversary. We live in a small town outside of Lincoln and thought it would be fun to just stay over in Lincoln after dinner and a movie. We should have come home instead of wasting our money.
