Near the Banks of the Clark Fork River....all I saw was a crematorium
Having tried to find reviews on this hotel and finding none, I decided to write the first one having spent the night there last night. First of all, it says "Near the banks of the Clark Fork River". Well, all I saw was the funeral home and crematorium which was on the other side of the parking lot. Looking directly out my room window I saw an industrial site with concertina wire, although in the background there were mountains. But the concertina wire caught my attention. Looking to the right less than a few hundred feet was the crematorium. The smokestack sticking up in clear view. I requested a non-smoking room. Yet the hallways reeked of smoke. Also there was a huge almost urn looking thing by the entrance door where people were allowed to smoke. Needless to say my allergies went into overdrive. My eyes hurt, my lungs hurt and it made me very tired. There is no exhaust fan of any kind in the bathroom although there is a performated metal cover over a hole in the wall. The newly remodeled room had carpet pulling away from the bathroom door trim. The floor was still old tile which I stared at wondering if they had made sure there were no mold spores before deciding to leave it in. There was a new tv and entertainment center, although very limited in the channels you could receive. Many of them were snowy and you couldn't watch them. The garden-like setting of the courtyard is a stretch of the imagination. The pool and hot tub are enclosed by a fence back in the corner of the parking lot. I know because in an attempt to find a way out of the lot without going by the busy intersection where I almost got hit the first time, I drove the other direction around the back of the hotel. NO SIGN saying dead end or as they call it "garden-like setting of the courtyard". The front desk clerk was pleasant enough. We didn't see anyone else.
