You get what you pay for...plain and simple.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/09
We booked blindly through Travelocity's Secret Hotels. Once upon a time in Kalispell, this hotel was an amazing facility. Over 200 rooms; 2 pools; 3 jacuzzi's; racquet and tennis courts...sadly now, it is just an empty shadow of it's former self. The North wing is now given to weekly and monthly rentals; the north pool a stale foul half-full-of-water hazard for small children. The rest of the property is quite dated, mostly empty and kinda creepy in some ways. The front desk staff were polite, attentive and accomodating. All in all, for the $100 or so we paid for two nights accommodations, it was fair value. Nothing at all fancy, but shelter from the heat (our room AC was awesome although the hallways were 90 degrees plus!) and certainly centrally located.

FOR AN HONEST OPINION - READ THIS REVIEW
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/09
This was by far - THE WORST EXPERIENCE I could subject my family to. We checked into the hotel, took our bags to the room and opened the door to an odor that can only be described as raw sewage! The staff knew there was a problem, because the window had been left open to air it out - to no avail! I immediately went to the desk and demanded another room. The next morning my husband wakes up to realize he's sleeping directly on the mattress. Apparently, the new owners do not believe in fitted sheets! As if that's not bad enough - I go to take a shower and realize the tub has soap scumb everywhere, including the shower curtain, and there was hair in the drain from the previous guests - lovely! We go out to our car and see that another car parked fairly close to ours had been broken in to. We gathered up the items the thieves didn't want and reported it to the front desk only to find that the car had been abandoned there and the sheriff's dept won't tow vehicles from private property AND the hotel was too cheap to have it removed - can't imagine that can be great for business! Later that day we go back to our room and use the bathroom, only to have the toilet back up (guess that's what happened in our original room!) - it was at that time we had to call for a plunger AND more towels (guess that's extra!). The one positive I can say was the in house resturant was good and the service was very pleasant - my only advice would be for them to pack up and get out of that hotel. On our way back from dinner, my kids & I came thru the lobby only to walk in on the police responding to a domestic violence call (run kids - and don't look at anyone in the eye!). That night my husband and I took great care to strategically slide into bed so neither of us would end up on the mattress again - my husband lost. As for the experience - it was horrible. The pool was murky, the carpets - disgusting, the hotel - overall - dingy, the staff - numb to the whole experience - if they even show up! My final thoughts - if this hotel is under new management - they need to do Kalispel a favor and burn it down!

I saw a five star review for a dump
By RodneyM, 10/17/08
I cannot understand how someone could stay at this dump only a couple of days after I did and say it was nice? It is the filthiest place I have ever seen, bar none. If you are trailer park trash, you will love it, but not decent human being in their right mind would give them any praise! As for the pool and spa, to get to it, children may walk barefooted on the nastiest carpet I have ever seen in hallways! I cleaned my shoes before I got back in my car! Not only that, the exterior windows of the building facing west (when the sunset) showed the dirty stains that were enough to make a person vomit. It this is your cup of tea - by all means - check in to the Outlaw! _ While you're at it, you may want to eat at the worst Mexican Restaurant in the world (recommended by the fat lady at the desk) - it's just across the street.

An Amazing Stay!
By Katie, 09/20/08
Honestly I can't say I understand why some people give the reviews they do. I stayed at The Outlaw and very much enjoyed the week I was there! It was a great 5 days with the little community of Kalispell and I HIGHLY reccommend The Outlaw. All of the staff were incredibly outgoing and accommodating... my family greatly appreciated the warm and inviting family atmosphere, every employee that I happened to speak with just seemed generally pleasant and eager to assisst in any way they could. The price was very reasonable considering the immaculate quality of the rooms and guest areas. The pool and spa area was a great relaxer and the kids greatly enjoyed the pool. For all of those who can't seem to agree with my above statements, I'm sorry you weren't able to see the beauty in the old landmark that I did. The Outlaw is very accommodating as well as enjoyable and I hope others can also experience it as I did.

Never Again
By RodneyM, 09/19/08
What's to say, it was September 16, 2008. After I foolishly checked it, I found their Internet rate listed at $20.00 less. This aside, the place was the filthiest place I have ever stayed it. In some states, the board of health would close them down. It's a real s--t hole!

Beyond a doubt the worst stay ever ! ! !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/08
Arrived in Kalipell unexpectedly and late to boot on Labor Day weekend. Outlaw Inn had the only available rooms. Now I know why. It was absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed. Dirty both in and out of the rooms. The card key would not open any of the outside doors. And get this, our bathroom had dirty towels, the fan made so much noise it was unusable and you couldn't regulate the temperature of the shower. A guest down the hall said their A/C didn't work and to top this all off, the motel had doubled the price because they had the only available rooms in town. And normally they're about the same price as the Holiday Inn Express across town. Lesson learned, we will drive an additional 250 miles before we stay here again. My suggestion to the owners, raz the dump.

Do Not Stay at this Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/08
My husband & I went to Kalispell for a quick getaway. We checked into the Outlaw, left immediately to do some shopping, eat & have a couple of drinks. We returned to our room, had a couple of more drinks and then noticed the rug had not been vacuumed, the toilet was disgusting and clearly showed how the last customer used it, the bathtub was dirty and had a dried out filthy face cloth hanging on the corner of the shower curtain. We complained with no satisfaction and would have left immediately but could not drive due to the 4 drinks. YUCK!!!

Impressed by staff
By Alisha B, 08/08/08
My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago and were both very impressed with the staff. We've traveled quite a bit together and have never been welcomed by such friendly and helpful people. Maybe it comes with a smaller town and not being associated with a larger corporation, I don't know, but it was certainly a welcoming place. The girls at the front desk were more than happy to chat with us about the local goings-on. We actually went to an amazing play in Whitefish. We had a conversation with General Manager who explained some of the remodeling happening at the hotel. This place has a lot of potential. It's an amazing old building. I was very impressed with her passion for the hotel. This is the first large hotel I'd been to where I was greated with such warmth and hospitality.

Perfect, exactly what I needed
By Good Deal!, 07/15/08
Zero problems. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Rooms clean, comfortable and had all necessary amenities. Location perfect. Shuttle picked us up from the airport. Again, no complaints. I had a very nice stay at the Outlaw Inn.
