22 reviews for Inn at Grand Glaize, Osage Beach
Great price and location!
By nc_hpoa, 08/06/09
I really feel the need to write a review for this place based on the other not so great ones from others. We had a great time staying at the Grand Glaize Inn. It is a little older but it was clean and the price and location was wonderful! I feel that the people complaining about the needed updates were people who were expecting a 5 star hotel and at the price of the Inn at Grand Glaize it's not going to happen! If your looking for an affordable, clean place in the middle of everything then this is the place for you! If you want a luxuary vacation spot try the Four Seasons for double the price. As for the complaints about the partying, we saw nothing but families having a great time, there was even a family reunion being held there. The boat rental place just down below was great too! My only complaint is that the lobby did smell of cigarette smoke, so an updated filtration system could be used. Yes this place is a little older but we couldn't have asked for more, had a great time and plan on going back and staying at the Inn at Grand Glaize Inn!

In Desperate Need of a Makeover
By Tom, 08/01/09
I stayed here with some friends in 1991. Back then I remember it being nice. This weekend, my fiancee and I stayed for two nights. The place has really gone down hill and is desperate need of a makeover. Everything is outdated and just really seemed dirty. If Jeff Foxworthy were to visit the hotel, especially the pool area, I am sure he would come up with a lot of new material for his redneck jokes. The first night we found ants on the desk and in the morning found them on our nightstands and in our bed. I brought this to the attention of the clerk at the front desk and requested a new room. She gave us a different room and apologized but I was expecting some more for our troubles. The second room had no bugs but the overall condition was old and run down. Sad, because it's a really good location for a hotel. If the owners expect to stay in business, they need to something fast. With these poor conditions, they just cannot compete with the other hotels/resorts in the area. Unless changes are made, we will not be returning. I recommend you do not stay here.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/09
THIS IS THE REVIEW....IT'S A DUMP, IT'S CHEAP, IT'S CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, IT HAS A GREAT PARKING LOT (SERIOUSLY). BUT IT IS REALLY ROUGH.....WORN OUT.....SAD SHAPE....THEIR WEBSITE PHOTO ARE A BIG FAT JOKE....THIS IS LIKE A WORN OUT TRAILER PARK.....WARNING....BUT AGAIN IT'S CHEAP AND CLOSE. YOU WILL NOT IMPRESS YOUR GUESTS BY HAVING ANY TYPE OF RECEPTION OR CONVENTION HERE....UNLESS YOU ARE HOMELESS...IT IS HARD TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT BOOKING A ROOM HERE.

Should tear it down and start over again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/08
After checking into our first room, I noticed fleas jumping on my sweater and shoes. Sure enough, more kept coming. They got us into another room but I don't think I got so much as a "sorry your room had fleas". It seemed to be par for the course. Had a good time in spite of the fleas, but wouldn't stay there ever again. Also didn't like the thick cloud of smoke that was in every inch of the hotel.

TOTAL JUNK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/08
This place is a piece of junk. Dirty sheets, head stained pillows, old stained bed spreads, cold damp carpet, dirty old bathroom, dirty bath tub, moldy walls and ceilings, warm and loud AC units. Plus everything is very outdated and broken. What a joke. The online pics of a nice place are from long ago. Stay clear of this place. Bad management and bad ownership. Please close down so someone can buy it and turn it around or just plow it down and start new from the ground up. This place is a piece of junk. Run far away.

Poor Management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/08
This place has fell apart. Years ago this was the place to be. Now the kids are here partying since the price of the rooms are cheap and it shows. DO NOT stay here. Dirty rooms and theft!!! The owners and managment must be laughing all the way to the bank everytime a guest checks in. No money is being used for updates. This place needs new carpet, paint, room and all around hotel fixtures. When your here you can see that it was a great place to stay 15 years ago. It still has all of the old style pink flower colors and outdated wallpaper. Spend a few more dollars and stay at another place, then you wont worry about your car in the lot at night. Rooms, hallway, and evevators smell old and wet. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! YOU WERE WARNED!!!!!!

Nice little Hotel with a good location.
By JohnC, 07/29/08
My husband and I stayed at The Inn at Grand Glaize for a short weekend vacation. We were impressed with the friendly staff and the hotel room was very cozy. We did not spend alot of time at the hotel but did get a chance to eat in the restaurant one night and had a good meal. We rented a couple of wave runners right at the hotel which was very convenient and had a blast on the lake. I read some of the other reviews and felt I should give kudos where they are due. The room we stayed in seemed to have been remodled in the fact that it had new furniture and carpet.

We CAN wait to go back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
We went in April 2008 for a conference (just before they kick it in high gear for the summer season). The staff members were all very nice. And I believe the location is great. The place just needs to be remodeled. Our first room was on a lower level. I believe the room had not been cleaned recently prior to our arrival. There was a large millipede in the bathtub. The entire room and hallway smelled damp and closed off. Needless to say we moved to a room on a higher floor. It at least looked as if someone had been in to dust before we arrived. The entire property reminded me of the old Jack Nicholson movie The Shining. I felt my husband and I were staying in an old abandon lodge/resort/hotel. Even the meeting rooms need to be redone!

What a change
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
Its sad to see what has happend to this place. I must say when our family friend was the manager here at this property around 1988-1993 this place was one of the top spots to be. You had to fight to get in. Hotel had nice upscale restaurant and pool was very nice with lunch spot at pool. Pool was also the host to live radio. Lots of family fun. My dad also won the big belly contest againts all the other dads!!! No drunks around either. The security guard was 24/7. Needs to be sold and a good manager to take over and renovate and raise rates to keep the kids out. Could be great with the right manager. Sorry to vent but I know what it use to be.
