Atrocious Experience
By Charles, 2/21/12
Upon checking into a room we paid a premium for because it advertised as having a lake view we find that a giant tree obstructs 1/3 of our side of the hotel's view completely. Was told by management that they were terribly sorry, and tree was going to be removed when their budget allowed. Rooms were musty and poorly cleaned. Resturaunt is understaffed and service thoughout our stay was horrible. Prior to this I have never left an online review for anything, and am usually the last to complain, but cannot overstate how badly this stay went. This place is horribly managed and maintained and the reviews are starting to reflect it. There are plenty of other chains with standards for maintenance etc in this area and I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Always a pleasure
By tall, 10/13/11
I'm giving my review this title because the Inn was built by Stan Musial of the St. Louis Cardinals back in the day. I've gone through a lot of the reviews here, and I'm going to say that I feel that the Inn, it's owners and the staff have gotten a lot of bad reviews because of the actions of other guests. I'm not going to mention those reviews here. Although, I will say that some of them are more than a few years old. While the Inn has been around Osage Beach for a while, the current staff and owner are doing more than their best when it comes to providing for the guest's comfort and value for the dollars that they spend at the Inn. The staff has always been friendly to me, the front desk has never kept me waiting for more than thirty seconds, unless it's check out time and they are swamped. I can understand that. Frankly, I love going to the Inn. I enjoy being around the staff and the people that I'm there to work with as part of the reason that I'm there. Yes, some of the rooms were sub par. Staff and Maintenance have been working to bring the Inn up to current standards. The pool may be a few floors down from the bottom floor. But from what I can see, it's optimally placed, what given the face that the Inn is providing a backdrop on an artificial lake. But the Inn was built at a time when people were more active than the nominal couch potato is today. But the staff realizes that, and they accommodate people with needs getting down to and back up from the pool. In contrast to the other reviews given about the Inn I feel that the owners and staff have done an excellent job with maintaining the Inn. This resort was built by Stan Musial and the current staff have done a quality job at making it even better than it was.

Bass tournament housing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/11
This is the second time I've stayed here for a bass tournament. I like how close it is to everything (ramp, check-in back at Wal-Mart). The views are wonderful and getting down to the docks to throw some lures is very nice. The staff was wonderful, with the Front Desk helping open my room back up on a jacket I thought I left. The Inn has an old feel to it. I read where the new GM is working to get it back in shape and saw the landscape guys doing a nice job on the grounds. Maintenance was busy working so there is effort going on. I think housekeeping is working with what they have. But all of them are working with an Inn that fell in disrepair and has a long way to go. Beds are not comfortable and furniture has worn holes. The bathroom door was glued and screwed to hold together. The fan in the bathroom rumbled. My room was better this time than the one close to whatever bar that was near. 4:30 AM comes earlier when you've been awakened. The walls are thin...and the ceiling has huge cracks between the dry-wall seams. Bottom line, it's great for me to stay for fishing, but not sure I would go there with my whole family. I'll tip an average rating over poor, because of the staff and the effort seen. Other reviews talk about the need to update and remodel. That's correct. Maybe someday.

Will Not Stay Again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/11
My family and I will not stay here again. Kids partied in the room next door. Could not sleep because of doors slamming and people partying all night. Could not get the front desk to answer the phone. Service was horrible.

Still can't get the smell out
By jsx, 6/1/10
We just got back from the lake after staying here. Location was great. That's where the good stuff ends. Stay far far away from the hot tub. We got in while the bubbles were going, when they stopped you could not see two inches into the water, then the smell hit you. our swim suits were ruined. After hanging them to dry in the bathroom with the exhaust fan on all night I opened the door in the morning and the smell knocked me down. dirty diapers left in the filthy ice dispenser area. No towels at the pool, after we were told there were. 4 hours and two request later we got extra towels since ours were soaked from the pool and hot tub. Impossible amount of stairs to the pool. Our door lock messed up three times. All this in ONE day we left after one night. Should have known when we walked into the room. Housekeeping had literally just left as we walked to the room. Bathroom toilet dirty, empty pill bottles and candy wrappers still on the floor. Trash cans had trash in them. Value or not I'd rather sleep on the Bagnell Dam then cross their threshold ever again. For the first time ever I refused to pay for my stay. After dealing with rude front desk people the GM finally comped our room but only after I mention an attorney.

I feel dirty now
By Danger Close, 4/9/10
This place smells like feet and the floors are very sticky. Very damp and cold. Switched rooms to find the same thing again and many small bugs in the beds. Years ago this was a nice place but its now run down. Same bed spreads and flower stuff from years ago. I felt like we were camping but paid way to much for our campsite. I wish I would have brang OFF bug spray and my Ortho home defense spray for the spiders and little crawlers. Man, I could go on and on. Dont stay here. You will get the feeling you should alarm the room when you leave and hire a guard for the cars in the dark lot at night. I kept checking the cars and my wife was not happy at all with this place. I hated the feeling of wanting to take all of our stuff with us each time we got ready to leave for dinner or just go out. I also hate the feeling you get when you know someone was in the room but its not time for the maids at night so your left wondering why they came in and if everything is still here. I wouldnt let our family go down the dim lit halls at night alone to look at the boats in the cove at 8-9pm without being in a group but then I didnt want to leave the room unguarded to long either with our stuff inside. Not a safe place to stay. Find another for a little more money and no cig smell or wet dog smell. My son said it smelled like feet in the room and halls. We did try the restaurant on the first night but the chicken had many bloodknots in it and we just went by a drive through. BAD, BAD BAD!!!!!

Great price and location!
By nc_hpoa, 8/6/09
I really feel the need to write a review for this place based on the other not so great ones from others. We had a great time staying at the Grand Glaize Inn. It is a little older but it was clean and the price and location was wonderful! I feel that the people complaining about the needed updates were people who were expecting a 5 star hotel and at the price of the Inn at Grand Glaize it's not going to happen! If your looking for an affordable, clean place in the middle of everything then this is the place for you! If you want a luxuary vacation spot try the Four Seasons for double the price. As for the complaints about the partying, we saw nothing but families having a great time, there was even a family reunion being held there. The boat rental place just down below was great too! My only complaint is that the lobby did smell of cigarette smoke, so an updated filtration system could be used. Yes this place is a little older but we couldn't have asked for more, had a great time and plan on going back and staying at the Inn at Grand Glaize Inn!

In Desperate Need of a Makeover
By Tom, 8/1/09
I stayed here with some friends in 1991. Back then I remember it being nice. This weekend, my fiancee and I stayed for two nights. The place has really gone down hill and is desperate need of a makeover. Everything is outdated and just really seemed dirty. If Jeff Foxworthy were to visit the hotel, especially the pool area, I am sure he would come up with a lot of new material for his redneck jokes. The first night we found ants on the desk and in the morning found them on our nightstands and in our bed. I brought this to the attention of the clerk at the front desk and requested a new room. She gave us a different room and apologized but I was expecting some more for our troubles. The second room had no bugs but the overall condition was old and run down. Sad, because it's a really good location for a hotel. If the owners expect to stay in business, they need to something fast. With these poor conditions, they just cannot compete with the other hotels/resorts in the area. Unless changes are made, we will not be returning. I recommend you do not stay here.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/09
THIS IS THE REVIEW....IT'S A DUMP, IT'S CHEAP, IT'S CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, IT HAS A GREAT PARKING LOT (SERIOUSLY). BUT IT IS REALLY ROUGH.....WORN OUT.....SAD SHAPE....THEIR WEBSITE PHOTO ARE A BIG FAT JOKE....THIS IS LIKE A WORN OUT TRAILER PARK.....WARNING....BUT AGAIN IT'S CHEAP AND CLOSE. YOU WILL NOT IMPRESS YOUR GUESTS BY HAVING ANY TYPE OF RECEPTION OR CONVENTION HERE....UNLESS YOU ARE HOMELESS...IT IS HARD TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT BOOKING A ROOM HERE.

Should tear it down and start over again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/08
After checking into our first room, I noticed fleas jumping on my sweater and shoes. Sure enough, more kept coming. They got us into another room but I don't think I got so much as a "sorry your room had fleas". It seemed to be par for the course. Had a good time in spite of the fleas, but wouldn't stay there ever again. Also didn't like the thick cloud of smoke that was in every inch of the hotel.
