A step into the gentile past
By txn, 12/13/09
An old 1930's-like hotel with great character. The lobby is unusual with a raised sitting area complete with grand piano, art & antiques. The courtyard reminds one of old New Orleans. The bar comfortably overlooks the courtyard. We enjoyed our stay. No bellman.

In the Center of EVERYTHING!
By MS GIRL, 01/26/09
We really enjoyed this hotel. The price was great and the location was fantastic. We had a room with a balcony which would have been better if they hadnt built a huge new hotel in our view of the river. The ONLY complaint I had was that we were there the same time a group of "theatre" kids were there and they cause a LOT of noise. But other than that, it was PERFECT and we are going back next month!

Nice little hotel
By DisC, 06/25/08
Stayed here a few nights about 3 months after Hurricane Katrina, drove back and forth to New Orleans. Loved this hotel, its location, and staff. Walked to restaurants in the evening. Rooms were small but very clean. Really relaxing after returning to hotel from disaster in New Orleans every evening.

Humphrey Boggard & me
By Marjorie, 06/07/08
I can't wait to stay at Eola again. Was expecting to run into Catherine and Boggie in the halls or on the elevator ( which has the original brass folding doors). I loved the charm and decor. The windows in the rooms are origanl (evan has the little bubbles in the the glass)and huge. Great location for walking anyplace downtown. The lobby is beautiful and unlike any other I've seen. Food and service is excellent. Give me smaller rooms, narrower hallways, thinner walls anyday for this piece of history. I have recommended Eola to lots of friends, they have all loved it also.

Old and musty. needs updating.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/08
this hotel is in a great location, but is in desperate need of renovating. It's got a musty smell, which is acceptable since it's old, but the bedspreads, carpet, linens are out of date. The beds are awful. The bathrooms are tiny; however the old decor is in keeping with an older hotel. Except it still needs new wallpaper and a fresh look. I wouldn't stay here again unless you just need a great location. The breakfast is delicious! The bar needs updating too...Redecorate Eola!!!!

Great old world charm
By Rosemary D, 01/06/08
If you want "cookie cutter" box of a room go somewhere else. This is a historical hotel and that is what it portrays and nothing it's not. The place was still decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. I'd compare to the Peabody in Memphis only on a smaller scale. Service was excellant. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and lots to see in downtown Natchez, all within walking distance. I'd definitely recommend staying here. This is my third trip to the Eola and enjoyed it so much. WIFI works well.

might return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/07
My first time here with my husband due to a job he had. The service was nice and the rooms are small yet comforting, has a good location to downtown attrations. We had the room with a balcony facing the nice courtyard, but being here the weekend was more than we expected. The walls are already paper thin hearing every conversation but the drunks hanging out yelling down below till 3am was horrible; reving engins and speeding down the road. Are there any COPS in this town? Recommend staying in a other room.

An Excellent Choice!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/06
Small, quiet, old-South charming! I was looking for a pleasant place to just get in some rest and relaxation and this was a great downtown hotel choice. I ate all my meals there and the food was excellent.

very nice experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/06
The hotel is convenient and historic, with more than adequate, if old fashioned, rooms, beautiful lobby and courtyard, and an excellent restaurant. The chef, we're told has only been there a month, but he is a keeper. The food (evening dinner) was much better than we expected and the service was good also. Priced right. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast buffet was also good.

Wished for more
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/06
My husband & I recently stayed at the historic Eola hotel for a Saturday stop-over on our way to Texas. The staff was very friendly and location convient. Lobby was impressive at first glance. We realize that this was an old hotel, but feel there is no excuse for dust and dirtiness. You can even see where they had painted over old dust. Even the Eola letters were peeling off the awning out front. I think it is time for a major cleaning or the price of the rooms need to drop. We paid $203 for a room that may have been worth $75.
