Clarion Hotel & Suites Jackson North, Jackson

We took a group of senior citizens to a conference at this hotel. From check-in to check-out this was the worst experience that I have ever had at a hotel that we have been to. This was absolutely a nightmare! Even tho we had sent a rooming list 3 months ahead, no room assignments were made. I spent over 90 minutes working with them on assigning rooms to my 30+ people. Most rooms had no air conditioning, trash cans, phones, tv remotes or light bulbs. The curtains and furniture were torn, the water was brown and no guarantee of hot or cold water. Only one or two ice-makers were working out of 8-10. The pool was a greem murky color and the jacuzzi was a grayish murky color. They had two elevators but only one working when we arrived. The next day both elevators were not working. In case of fire none of our handicapped people could have gotten out of the fifth and sixth floors. People were stranded in the lobby for hours after the last session of the day, could not get to their rooms. The rooms were not cleaned by the maids, had to go get own towels and toilet tissue. The service was awful, an I don't give a damn attittulde by most of the employees. The toilets in the lobby area were not woking, were stopped up. The food service was awful, very slow to respond to needs. I have nothing good to say about this hotel. It was filthy and a health hazard. It needs to be condemned. I would give a zero rating if I could but have to give at least one star.

This was the absolute WORST hotel I’ve ever been to. Both elevators broke in the middle of the day. The breakfast was HORRIBLE. Our toilet broke in one room, so we were moved to another where the toilet broke AGAIN and was broken the entire time we were there! We had two phones in our room, neither worked. The vending machines didn’t work and neither did the ATM. The only drink you could get without going to the restaurant was at the front desk which was WAY overpriced. Some rooms had refrigerators and some didn’t. The shower went from very hot to cold. It looked like there was mildew in various places. The hotel smelled and the rooms looked disgusting. The sign outside said the rooms were newly renovated but they looked like they hadn’t been touched in about 10 years. The furniture was damaged and there were hardly any channels on TV. The smoke detector looked like it had bloody fingerprints on it. The swimming pool was half drained and had dark brown water in the deep end and leaves in the other. There was a place that was supposed to be a business center but there was absolutely nothing in it. The food at dinner was awful and there was hardly anyone to serve us. There was so much noise I could barley go to sleep. The entire hotel was run-down. Each stall in the rest rooms downstairs was either out of toilet paper or out of order. Everywhere you turned something was out of order or completely broken. One of the maids asked me how my stay was and she wasn’t nice when I told her how bad it was. I wouldn’t recommend this CRAPPY hotel to ANYONE!!!

My company sent me to Jackson for training and we stayed at the Clarion Hotel. Although I was away for work the staff made it a very relaxing time...just what I needed. Also, the business center helped me alot!

I was here this past week for a family reunion. I just wanted to take the time to let everyone at the hotel know what a great stay we had. The staff was more than helpful and made this event a memorable one. The hotel looks great since the renovation earlier this year. The food was great and so was the staff. I look forward to returning next year...

It would be difficult to pick just one area to complain about this hotel. It was the worst experience of any hotel I have ever stayed at, and I cannot believe it is a Choice Hotel property. I bragged that at least all Choice Hotels are clean. Not anymore. BTW, we were there to see Annie at the theater in Jackson. The cast was staying there, too, and EVERYONE was talking about how awful this hotel was. The staff was surly and rude. The free breakfast had to be free; it sure wasn't worth paying for. We were supposed to get a nonsmoking room and were put in a smoking room - after having to change from another room. Everything smelled. The hallways reeked. There were what looked like blood stains on the ceiling. The carpet was nasty. Only three channels on the television. Nothing worked, the ice machines, the elevators, etc. The towels were so thin you could have dried off with paper towels. I thought I was in a rent-by-the hour hotel. It was the worst. I have to say I will check out any other Choice property before I stay there again, because this proves that sometime name is not everything.

I stayed at Clarion on 3 February 2008. Checked out the next morning. The heat did not work, there was no hot water, cable was out an one of the elevators was broken. I did not enjoy my stay. I was not able to take a hot shower.

I stayed here because our convention was being held here. reviewed for week of 1/8-1/15 2007 bad: - hot water - shaky, was not available half the time - restaurant - the service was spotty at best and could not handle a full capacity (but some cheap food) - supplies - hotel ran out of coffee over the weekend - general lethargic attitude of service workers everywhere in Jackson - one elevator didn't always stop directly at the intended floor - no free breakfast, free coffee runs out quickly in morning good: - rooms were clean and comfortable - deposit boxes available at front desk - part of the city is relatively safe and has lots of good restaurants and shopping within driving distance - wireless internet in my room - some sort of exercise room (I didn't use it) final word: - if the price works for you, do it, but expect _something_ not to work right, possibly due to remodeling

I just stayed at the Clarion Hotel and it was wonderful. Although the Hotel is under renovation the staff made my stay the best I've had in quite a while. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The restaurant had excellent food at a great price. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Great experience and price.......

We had our first Family reunion there and plan on having another one there. The rooms were Great. I stayed in a suite and the sofa even let out into a bed with a separate T.V. in the front and back. The lounge where we went to meet and greet our family was just perfect for our family size. The food was great. Really enjoyed being there.
